And I'm not talking about graphics that are great!
Sound design is really completing the atmosphere, great job!
I also liked the potato character, but the background assets looked much cooler, so he was a bit off and unfinished for me.
Great entry overall!
Your graphics are much cuter, though! I liked how the game looked and sounded, but I suck way too much in platformers to get very far
I realized I played your entry for the Communicaty Game Jam, it was great as well!
I only have one question: Is it some sort of hidden area, that I was not able to open up? Or is it just a continuation of the level, planned for the future? Or is it just a tease? I've completed the game but was not able to find my way to that room.

The door just leads to one of the shortcuts you can unlock from the other side to help yourself with the next runs. :) You can open it from the room where those moving spike walls are.
Anyway, thanks again for the feedback. Really appreciated!!

(I enjoyed your making of video too - it's nice to see behind the scenes)
Having the roadblock switches be persistent across runs tries to mitigate this a bit, but it stills fall short when even with them you have to repeat increasingly longer sections of the same path over and over until you find the next available switch.
I don't mind repeating a section I keep failing at because that's the whole point, but doing so from the beginning of the level is too harsh a penalty for a mistake. In some cases, such as the first time you arrive to a crossroads and you pretty much need to do a wild guess for the right path, it is actually unfair.
Sorry if that bit of criticism sounded harsh, I've temporarily stopped playing to rate the game and I'm still a bit tilted , but I'm beating this today for sure :muscle:. I'm loving everything else, from the art style (the character animation is really cute :D) and the level lighting to the sound design and music. Mechanics are clear and tight, and the controls feel really polished. Well, everything is super polished, it feels like a game I would be wishlisting on a PC store or my Switch.
Awesome job, congratulations!! (But please, checkpoints! )
[EDIT]: Just beat it! :D

Such a well executed, simple idea that I was able to pickup right away. Typically I love giving constructive feedback but I can't think of it at the moment.
This is a front runner for me, good work!
I don't think I'll say anything new, but there's never enough of positive feedback: I saw the making-of video (thanks for sharing that, it's always interesting to peek behind the scenes) and let me just say, I have no idea how you managed to create such a complex sprite animation in such a short time! Most jam games I've seen so far have 2-frame movement at most, this is really incredible. The character feels so alive.
Another highlight are the sound effects, it really draws you in and you can feel the urgency of the dying light.
I didn't have the patience (I'm really bad at timed platformers) to finish it yet, but it's already one of my top favorite entries this time, that's for sure. :0
Thanks! Yeah, the animation and sound were the things we focused most of our time. Glad it was worth it. :)
I felt like the controls weren't very tight and didn't feel I had full control of the character in the tricky platforming parts. Also maybe a bit more time before the light runs out would be great or at least don't reduce the visible light radius as much.
Overall this is a really polished and gorgeous game I enjoyed it very much!
