Pretty simple but great aesthetic. Love the ET inspiration and the animations for chores! Also great UI! I would like more things to do/random events but I do understand it is an LD game. Great job!

I didn't understand how to find out where mom is, without leaving the room, at which point it is too late to turn back.

damn the mother got into the room while I was mowing the lawn (we should do a crossover with my game this LD about lawn mowing, lol). I like the graphics, they are a good fit for the game. Maybe you could add some mini games for fetching food and mowing the lawn so there is a bit more to do, but otherwise, nice entry!

The graphics and gameplay really add to the humor, was fun to throw the alien in the closet as the mom barges in.

I really liked the idea, it is a reversion of a tamgotchi. if I can fault it is the sounds and I would have liked some kind of music. apart from that good game!

Nice creepy atmosphere, thanks mostly to the audio, but the whole situation is creepy if you think about it (because it's all pointless... keeping an alien hidden from everyone, locked in a closet, feeding him only pizza and not ever doing any actual petting!). I liked the graphics also. My biggest suggestion would be to give more feedback to us players so that we can better estimate when mom is more likely to come.

I personally found the audio and atmosphere not creepy, but comical, and I think it made the game rather charming. The alien/boy audio really added to the game, but I think the mom's audio sounded a little unmotivated. I also wish I knew how often I should do chores. I really enjoyed the gameplay though. Great work!

Pretty unique idea. I like it. The only problem was with the audio. I would prefer some music not really crazy sounds.

Really cool idea, very intense!! I couldn't figure out where mom was until I left the room. Maybe add here position to the map up at the top. Like the simple UI. The sounds were cool also. Great game!

man i know people are getting creeped out by the noises but it gave me some wild nostalgia for old-school games. i love the aesthetic you have here! i agree that maybe it would be nice to have some small additional warning for the mom, but honestly it was a good addition to the tamagotchi-style gameplay. nice work!

Definitely a unique game! It would be nice if there was a way to see where the mother is. Its also much harder than I expected which makes it more fun

This was definitely one of the best I've played. I got a lot of FNAF and ET vibes from this game! Strategizing was a must and you constantly have to keep moving from room to room privatizing each move to your advantage. Only thing that was a let down was that the art was static feeling which kinda brought down the immersion. Nonetheless, a really good jam submission!

The voice acting was definitely a bit creepy, but the game play was really smooth, never glitchy and the gameplay was very clear to understand. I think it just needs a little more polish on the themeing of the game. is supposed to be silly? creepy? both? Great entry!

Graphics are good, I was a it concerned at the lack of controls instruction but that turned out to be okay. I have no idea how to tell when the mother will show up.

I like the concept of this game. Great use of the theme!
I think it has a good balance between doing chores/getting food and keeping the alien hidden from mon. But it would be nice if you can tell where she is. Having her appearing at random breaks the immersion for me. Or maybe I'm missing something.
Other than that, the game is great and it does bring you back to classics like ET or Mac & Me.

I really like the sound effects on this - the echoing voices really add to the "oh, this is an alien" sensation. I'm not sure I fully understood the gameplay - I balanced doing chores and getting food for a while, but eventually, it seemed like just getting food worked just as well. The graphics are cute and seem reasonably polished.

Great game, audio was hilarious and eerie. Health/hunger bars could have used some colour to maybe tell what was full or empty, I found myself trying to figure out if his health was decreasing and how and if I could raise it beacuse sleeping just seemed to make him hungrier. Overall loved the atmosphere and idea.

Overall this was pretty fun. I especially liked the voice acting sound effects. I think my biggest complaint is already addressed by other comments, but it was difficult to know when you should do chores vs hoard pizza, or where mom was going to be. I effectively just treated mom as a random event that I had to be ready for. Nice work.

Cute little game, easy enough to understand and follow, could go places if you up the complexity and fix issues mentioned above. I lasted 44 hours and eventually lost when mom entered my room straight from the yard, so I don't know what's up with that.

The "bye" sound effect got pretty irritating pretty quickly.

Nice little game! Loved the various voice recordings. Also, how does that grass grow so fast?!?! Took me a while to get a hang of it, but once I found the pattern I think I could have gone forever. Stopped after 86 hours :smile:

The mother walked in while he was sleeping =(. Thought that I figured out how to keep him alive hiding him the rest of the time. Good apptoach to the theme. The ET talking is funny but its just that. It would be nice to have audio feedback of the rest of the gameplay elements.

The contrast between what I imagined it would be reading the description and seeing the screenshots (it looked super cute), and the actual game (I found it really creepy), was brutal ^^
The sound especially makes me feel creeped out, but in that way it's really efficient
And it's a very hard game; I managed 33 hours on the third or fourth try (first one I had forgotten to close the closet's door :D) but I'm not quite sure I understood the mechanics; even after doing lots of chores in front of the mom she sometimes came into my room unanounced directly from the garden

I only made it about 18 hours. I agree with a lot of the other comments I'm seeing above that I didn't really understand where mom was until she just walked into the room. The sounds were also a bit creepy, maybe it's the echo effect on them? I *DID* really enjoy the game, and you've already played mine, which was also made in Godot. I *do* know that textured buttons were a thing, but I was in a hurry and ran out of time to draw cute buttons for mine :D Still, really good entry and fun game! Great job!

Not sure if i was supposed to see mom around the house before she came in, because she was totally just appearing from nowhere. Poor alien is not going to be able to live long :(
