Sprouting Tale (LD46) by Tony_Artz
Introduction
In this game you play as Tulip, a gardener who sets out to give a new life to the barren forests. Use A and D to Move, Space bar to Jump, right click to throw the pot in air momentarily and left click to aim and shoot using your Slingshot. Remember to catch your plant again. You'll have to wait a while before you can jump when you throw the pot.
Jumping, Staying still and throwing the Plant in the air will cause the plant to Shiver up and die so keep and eye for that and plan before hand. The game also allows Players to collect Blossom Leaves hidden around the levels and finding them will require some exploring and attention.
Development Insight
This was my first ever game jam and I worked alone. I used Aseprite for pixel art and Unity as the engine.
Controls
| Key |Function | |-------------|------------| | A | Move Left | | D | Move Right| | Space Bar | Jump | | Right Mouse | Throw Pot | | Left Mouse | Shoot |
PS: Sorry for no Audio and only 3 levels, This was my first ever Game Jam and I just couldn't manage get to the music and sound effect done in time.
Updates :
*Fixed a bug where the platform leading to finish line in level 2 disappeared due to colliding with itself making the game impossible to finish.
*Fixed Camera going out of bounds when the player jumped from a high place due to y velocity being multiplied each tick the player was not on ground.

I am pretty awful at coordination though and didn't make it very far through the first level despite multiple tries as I found it very diffcult to catch the plant again since it goes off screen and comes back down so fast with little indication of direction other than th dandelions in the wind but it is hard to react by the time it comes back into view.
Possibly making it easier to catch would make it a little more enjoyable but you can still keep the difficulty up through the level design. Great job though and an amazing product especially since it was a solo effort!
Can I find your game also on indiexpo website? The channel is linked with them.
I really liked your graphics and, has you mentioned, missed the music background, since this fast pacing platforms kinda require that. I did not find the time to add sounds to my game as well... :P
I felt like the camera was up too close, so it had to move a lot only to keep the girl on the screen for a single jump. I have to confess that it took me a while to get used to the fast moves with a view so up close.
The idea of being able to shoot only when the flower is in the air is good, but as @petturtle mentioned, if the flower was bigger, that would help a lot. And again, if the player was able to see the flower up in the air while shooting enemies it would be fair. If it was meant to be this difficult, than maybe there should be some sort of progression, cuz the player will just get frustrated and give up, so he will not enjoy all the levels you planned.
Another thing, since there is a health bar in the right, I felt bad for dying so quickly when touching the enemie. That bar went straight to zero and game over. By the third time I gave up because I had to do all over again. Maybe some checkpoints along the way, idk...
Well, congrats and keep quality games coming! ;)
The graphics are awesome.
I really liked the game mechanics, keeping the pot in the air was a great idea made the game unique.
Simplify the controls and get it on app store XD
Graphics were super cute, especially the main character. I would've liked it if the levels were shorter but more of them instead, sort of like super meat boy or some other arcade-style platformer.
Overall, fresh idea, good take on the theme, and great game!
Please specify what you have changed so that I can rate this game. Feel free to ping me when you do.
Otherwise, it's not fair to other people who are rated only on what they managed to squeeze in 72 hours.

I am wholeheartedly apologize to you and assurr you that I completely understand the competitive and fairness aspect of this game-jam. I hope you understand that I didn't mean to break any rule or play unfair. I feel really bad for causing this mess and wasting your time. I am really sorry.
I just needed to be sure that the update is clarified. And considering that this is your first LD, I can understand your situation.
Don't worry. I just want the LD to be a community based on trust.
Now that you have clarified, I will now play/rate your game 😉
Review upcoming.
Keep up the good work.
