Arex: Contain And Keep by Hare Software

Arex: Contain And Keep
Welcome to Arex! At our facilities we keep and contain subjects that are better kept at a safe distance from our cities. In our modern labs we conduct experiments on these subjects in the name of science to find out more about their behaviour and characteristics.
As a researcher you will perform experiments on our newest subject. Its behaviour is not yet known, so it will take some trial and error to find out more about it. However, we have full confidence that you will figure it out!
Oh, by the way... make sure the subject stays alive!
The game features:
* Humerous and detailed animations
* Unique puzzles
* Lots of pixel-art
* Lots of surprise
Have fun playing!

Congrat!
Nice work !
Good game idea and nice work!
I like the art, I see you're consistent in you ludum dare entries :P
EDIT: One remark, the controls are a bit inconsistent, you use space, enter and E for confirmation.
So at the start you are thrown out in a room where basically everything is interactable, and this is a nice thing, but to know what you have to do you need to go to the Computer that is 3 interactive things away from you. I think you should give the player an immediate way to know what is up, and what you need to do. The graphics reminds me Monkey Island for some reason. Once I got the grab of it, I enjoyed the various reaction of the Chewbacca guy. But the way assignment works are not really straightforward. The inconsistency on the keys to press (E for interact, SPACE for activate, ENTER to enable) is a bit confusing.
Good try, thanks for your entry. And I feel bad for the two guys I just killed for the experiment :(
"attempt to apply the following stimuli with losing control of the subject ..." what ? don't understand
I needed to come back to the game and try to provoke him to see what happens...
And ... wasn't disappointed!! I got killed Chewbacca and the researcher together <3 Coool stuff :D
Unique concept and well put together. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your entry!
@pfs, @notapixelstudio, @tulipekoni, @madebychaz The thing with the controls is true and I noticed even I get confused by it. It's a remnant from when I started development because I thought I would use more buttons than just 'E'.
@notapixelstudio Could be Chewbacca, but its big ears and front teeth suggest something else to me, perhaps we need more research? The tutorial is in the computer, which was a bit of a quick fix to make sure I could get it done. Some parts are rather unclear and some of the messages that are shown when something happens do not really catch people's attention or are vague. A lot more people did not understand when and why they should call security for example, so I need to make the messages a bit more clear.
@iasper The game does actually continue after you trigger it twice. You can call security to continue, but it will slowly get closer to breaking out. Would love if you give it another try, since there are some great animations for failing the game too ;)
