Overall very good job! Enjoyed playing it!
But It's really too long to get to the heater... 19 balls (plus the spare strikes)... I didn't make it. And the crowd screams is way to loud, my ears ! xD
I like that little story at the beginning, it's like the pitch of an 80's success movie ! That's cool.
@gabs - I'm glad you had fun! The heater will definitely get ya, haha.
@rojola - Thank you so much! Yeah, the timing is pretty specific on some of the pitches. We could definitely make it more clear to the player where the "sweet spot" is!
@ctrble - Ooh! I really love the idea of adding outfield play in another stage! Thanks for playing :)
@tatetate - Thank you so much. :) Haha, as someone who also doesn't normally like baseball games, I had lot of fun working on it.
@stuckne1 - Thank you. :) Credit goes to Adam for the goofy writing and HEATER pitch.
@norris-eldridge - Thanks for the feedback, that means a lot! Yeah, i'd definitely agree that it becomes repetitive after a playing for a while. Adding more variety in the future is something I'll work on.
@gurbx - Thank you! I tried to make the art and music aesthetics match, so hearing that is awesome. :) I really like your suggestions for improving the gameplay depth. The distance counter based on timing is really cool. I'm definitely gonna consider that if we do an update. Ahh yes, screenshake is ALSO a fantastic idea.
@wegpast - Thanks a bunch! Yeah, I realized how loud it was that after playing with headphones, haha. Will definitely have to adjust that, sorry about the volume! :O And story credit goes to Adam, I like it too, lol!
@spirits - I'm glad you had fun with it and enjoyed the music and coach XD. Yes, I think some of the pitches could probably use some adjusting! For me, it's that dang middle-speed pitch.
I'm sorry coach, but i have to sleep! i have work tomorrow and i have already spent more time than i would like to admit trying to get that ....... heater
*jokes aside*
Gorgeous game! simple yet addicting, the witty commentary from the coach kept me distracted just enough to not want to listen to him, but reading his commentary in my side vision while focusing on the incoming death balls.. he cracked me up a couple of times.
i tried to analyze where i had to **SMASH** space to hit it at the right time, i thought i had it, but i dont know, maybe i'm getting to old for reaction games.... i hope this is not the game that makes me realize that haha! Where did my reaction time go! or is there some faulty code lurking around, or maybe some timing issues! i want there to be.... haha
Dont have anything bad to say about this entry, Simple and well executed, from graphics to game play to audio.. Solid!
Great job on the sound, the main music loop is catchy, and the cheers and the crack of the hit sound fantastic. As for the gameplay, well, as they say, simple is best.
So solid, all of it.
Nice.
The graphics are crisp and the music and audio are brilliant! I'd forgotten about the heater by the time I got to it so it really caught me off guard, in a good way. Overall it feels like a nicely rounded entry needing only little spots of polish that others have mentioned!
