Saving Elly! by koljam

[raw]
made by koljam for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

The robots destroyed mankind. They were tired of man's stupidity. So they swept the humans from the face of the earth.

One day, however, they heard something that no one had heard for a long time. The crying of a child. The robots set out to destroy the child. But when they arrived, it had already found a protector - you.

You must protect the child at all costs. Be the savior of mankind.

Use WASD to move.

Click to attack the enemy.

Press Space to jump.

Change your weapon by pressing the number keys or by scrolling.

Destroy all spawn points. Only then you are safe!

I did all graphics myself, except for the explosion. You can find the artist here. Please do not consider the explosion when voting for the graphics.

If you think you have a low framerate, type frameRate(); in the console. The return value should be around 60. If it is closer to 30 maybe try another browser.

Loved this game. Happily played it for quite a bit. Loved the wave type defense style.

Fun concept. I found myself really motivated to get to the end. The only thing that could be worked on is the sound design. The baby crying sound was slightly irritating.

The graphics are a bit too monotonous.
The sound effects are solid.
The minimap is a nice feature, but a bit misleading.

Great game! Contrary to what @enya454 said I really liked the moody sound effects. Why did you disable rating for audio? Are the sound effects not yours?

Anyway, I quite enjoyed my playthrough. The dash attack is a bit overpowered, but that doesn't take away from the fun.

It's quite dark and gloomy, which I think perfectly fits the story. Howerver I think it's a bit too easy. Besides that, nicely done.

The low framerate is a feature or just something in my computer? Anyways fun game!

@mde Sadly I didn't have time left to do the sound effects, so I used some from freesound.org . The mood was more important for me than doing my own (which would definitely be worse). But next time I will

Nice game. I liked the baby sound effects, it was a nice touch. I didn't really know you could destroy the spawn points until a while into the game, so making that more clear would be beneficial. I still managed to complete it though!

Great entry, fast fun! The sound effects were more lizard than robot but did fit! Took me 202 seconds to finish :)
