They will be alive! (Of course if you save them) by SneakyFox

[raw]
made by SneakyFox for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

This game created over the weekend! It was a stressful enough, but I create all graphics(except UI and Effects) and game logic by my own.

The idea is simple. You have a tribe with creatures and they can product gold or food by using certain buildings. And if food is won't be enough for creatures by the end of the day, some of them are die.

Gold is needed to improve some stats to improve next session(rogue-lite style) - BUT THIS FEATURE IS NOT FINISHED. :(

Another aspect of the game is that from time to time hostile creatures attacks your creatures, and for defending you should use gun. In plan - it was a separate building.

There is no polish and can be some bugs Also game without sounds :(

Controls:

Mouse Tap - on building

WASD - move crossfire

Space - Shoot a bullet

I hope you will enjoy it)

Pretty fun with what you had so far. I had some issues of shooting with space and a building menu popping up in the way. Maybe some feedback on screen of when your farmers get food? Was hard to tell if they returned on their own or if I had to force them from the farms.

@nodlehs thanks for feedback :fox: I will fix some bugs later. And notifications for food getted/eaten can be a good way to see what's going on.

I think there's potential for this game. I like the concept of having to send your tribe out to survive and protecting them.

But I did find a lot of bugs. One stated by Nodlehs, and another is when going home people from the camp teleport to the farm and some people get stuck in the farms. Also it didn't seem to fit my screen?

Nice concept ! I liked the fact that you can blow your tribe with the cannon !

The concept is nice but it seriously lacks feedback. I didn't understand you could click on different buildings until I restarted and reread the manual more carefully. If the buildings would pop or get a circle around them when hovered over you'd know they can be clicked. The game didn't fit my screen, so I had to zoom out the browser. Maybe next time go for a simpler concept but more juicy? :)

@notke , thanks for feedback) i already made a simple polished game at previous LD, but now i tried to do something more complex, it was challenging and fun, so I don't regret) The game just needs some improvments)

Nice low poly art style. I liked the connecting nodes showing where they go. Looked like it would work well on mobile. Good jam!

Concept is not entirely clear when playing. Aim seems to be to just shoot the creatures. Good start though.

Challenging game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/7Pd4SRINH38

I can kinda see what you were going for, but it is very incomplete as I think you know. I would probably reduce or remove the cooldown on the gun (or maybe that was part of what you had planned for the gold, upgrades and the like?) and maybe also make the shooting mouse based to make it a bit more lively. The low poly art is really nice.

At times when I was pressing space the controls for operating one of the locations kept coming up, this was considerably distracted. The shots felt a little long in the time they traveled through the air. The game was considerably easier once most of my people died. There seemed to be some of the people I couldn't send home or would just sit on the island and do nothing.

Nice polish on the graphics. I think if a lot of the UI issues would be resolved this could be a great little game.
