Goat Sacrifice by Frankie Hobbins

The great ones demand a sacrifice, but it has to be alive! Deliver them a goat to the bottom of the oceans but don't let it get eaten.

Click to move.

My first game jam, everything made by me with Unity and Blender.

Sorry if the game runs badly, the technique used to make the fog is quite expensive so may not run well on laptops with integrated graphics.

The standalone version looks much better than the web version, but I thought I would include both anyway.

The difficulty starts off really hard. I died 8 times before I was able to survive for more than a second. The ambience is pretty cool. It is hard to tell where things are in a 3D space without more landmarks.

Cool art style, love under the sea monster settings. Controls were a little odd, would be nicer with a smoother movement with wasd or game pad or even a click and drag type control. Never the less was fun, big fish got my the first time and I was like WHAT!? haha

This is super cool, love the 3D. The controls were a bit odd on the WebGL version - it felt like I should've been able to at least click and drag to move, instead of click to get bursts of speed. The graphics, audio, humor and even the mood were pretty solid. Great job, seriously!

Fantastic setting, painful sound. Also plays very sluggish and thus made it impossible for me to play for more than two seconds before being eaten.

I love the over-the-top blood splatter effect though.

Cool ambience. Dark water and the style of the scary fish that emerge from the background. The controls are a little bit awkward. And I would love to have a counter of some sorts, like how deep you managed to get, or how much further until you reach the great ones.

I love the look of your underwater world and the creatures that try to snatch the goat up!

A very challenging and enjoyable, but short experience. Sometimes it felt like luck was guiding the way, but maybe I'm just bad at the game. Overall great graphics and a good sense of humor, but the sounds kind of hurt my ears.

Amazing art style - I loved the atmosphere! It's a simple game that feels really polished and accomplished what it set out to do. I found that knocking into the goat with my own sub was a great strategy for dodging. Great job!

Great atmosphere, controls were unresponsive on the web version, fun game overall.

Good job! I would say that making the web version not responsive is not a good idea. I had to press F11 to play and then scroll to fit the game area in my screen. The mechanics are pretty confusing and after a while, my goat was never eaten even the eels keep touching it? On the other hand, the ambient created by the graphics and so is nice!

Thanks for the all the feedback! Was great to wake up to. Sorry that the performance is less then optimal on some machines, I expect it's the fog technique but I didn't have the time to test on other specs.

There is a very subtle indication of how deep you are, there's a sonar blip so the closer you get to the bottom the closer the blips are together.

@jacob-ibanez-sanchez any advice how I should fix that? I'm not really sure what I'm doing, It's the first time I've pushed a build out 🤣

Alright, very cool UI and graphis and the entire vibe.
What a great model for the monster and the hungry fish, I love it!
I think this has a bunch of potential, great demo.

For criticism, I did not love the "click to move" and I was not sure if the shining "eyes" of the "submarine" were a game mechanic or an animation.
Also the standalone version 1.1 refused to run until I renamed the folder inside to Goat Sacrifice_Data, so maybe that could use a bug fix. See screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/vsZKhKf.png

Overall awesome stuff, rock on!

Very good graphics and atmosphere, I liked the filter and the monsters were very creepy. The gameplay itself was quite dull but the game feels very polished.

Nice looking game, a bit easy but any game that keeps the goat alive (well...) is a win in my book.

I played it a little (because it's so laggy, my device is not strong enough to run the game LMAO), seems fun, looks spooky and gorgeous, but not a really big fan of the click-to-move mechanic. Nicely done!

First it was hard to notice that am I goind down or not? Some indicator would be nice. Then I heard the noise change, that helped me. Nice entry, great work!
