In a small town out west it seemed like the beginning of a new era of prosperity when the local gang leader was caught and sentenced to hanging. But for you, the mastermind behind the gang, this was a total disaster. The charismatic leader is key for keeping the operation together. So you you decide to gather a squad of the meanest bandits for a rescue mission.

WKAM is a XCOM-inspired game in a western setting. Play the game in your browser.

This is pretty cool. I like turn based strategy game and this is really well made for a game jam game. Just one thing tho, it became a bit difficult to keep track of which characters are allys and which ones are enemies. But anyway, really well done!

Pulling together a turn-based strategy game in a jam is good feat. Gives me inspiration for the next time around :)

Really nice game, cool that there are so many different characters! But maybe a tutorial would have been nice :D

Love the harmonica, it takes the game to a great place I think. I love this game, it's great. Kudos to you sir.

Impressive game jam game, really like the idea of changing perspective to shoot. The game felt like it had quite a steep learning curve, but I would like to see this expanded on - good stuff! :D

Graphics are really nice and well thought out! I like the abundance of options for characters and their creative names. A tutorial would be really helpful because of the steep learning curve and the lack of storyline providing context (Your introductory paragraph could be moved onto the game). Overall nice job - I can tell you put in a lot of work and detail into the game like your camera work!

Really ambitious to try and make an entire XCOM style game in the span of a game jam. I like the idea of taking it into a western setting - that's a good setting to have a variety of guns and shooting styles.

This is crazy. You've manage to do some much! I don't even know what to write. Sometimes it's not that clear who's turn it is but then again, you can look at the left panel. The shooting mechanic is really fun too. I'm blown away!

Very ambitious game, and you managed to pull it off! My only complaint is that it may be a bit too slow paced for a game jam. Awesome work! It was certainly fun to play a genre that I usually don't.

Nice! this is one of my favourites. Not the clearest UI in the world but a really nice, fairly complex gameplay loop. I was rubbish at it and could not keep the leader alive but had a really good time! Go comment on people's games for more feedback karma if you have the time before time is up otherwise you might not get enough ratings for this game to rank which would be a real shame. Great job!

A few too many clicks perhaps, perhaps something like right click to move by default, and left click to select action if you want something other than move, could be an idea. Or some hotkeys. Either way, love the idea, the little players, the idea with aiming and shooting with the randomness added is a fun take on it. Kudos for going all in with the harmonica :D

very solid entry, love seeing the genre
i wish what was going on was better communicated to the player
(whats my chance of hitting? how much damage am i gonna do? which cones even belong to me?)
