After 48 tiring and rewarding hours I managed to create something that i can say I am amazed how I did it in such short amount of time.

Heres some key features / mechanics of the game:

  • A fully working shop, that can be easily used in other projects
  • Tooltips, man did I learn about them, very useful to display dynamic information without being constantly on screen.
  • In-game Level Editor - Ability to create, move and delete items on a 2D scene
  • Items place on the scene influence each other, that can collide and have area effects. This must be refreshed everytime items are messe with.
  • Transaction - I learned how to save data in the form of transactions, so that instead of having to calculate for example how much cached is being produced, that value is automatically updated with each transaction / scene refresh rathen than being done every frame.

Next Steps

  • Animations - I actually created some very basic animations for the items, just didn't have the time to put them in.
  • Dialogue - I will add more dialogue every now and then to make the game more engaging
  • Sounds - Printer don't go Brr cuz there is no sound!! I will add them in the upcoming days
  • Bug Fixing - I only realised that you can purchase all the upgrades for free after submitting the game 😅

Tools Used

  • Unity
  • Photoshop - for the amazing art
  • Ilustrator - to trace some images online
  • OBS - to record the whole process and make a timelapse later!
  • Microsoft Visual Studio - code editor

### Improvements

The graphics could use alot of work.

The UI could use work.

No need for the dialog at the beginning.

Alot of balancing issues.

ALl the upgrades are free? Makes it really easy too win.

### Thumbs up
Almost fun even tough I have played many games like it

How is it connected to the theme?

Some graphics where ok

It was clear on what to do

Thanks for having a web version.

I'm pretty sure using photos that you haven't taken yourself is simply against the compo rules.
Not that bad idle game in terms of mechanics, but the upgrades are completely free. The story is awful though, sorry. UI is pretty good, but scroll bars are so annoying if mouse scroll doesn't work :(

Someone here is well read on the memes.

Standard gameplay (I forgot what genre this is, it's like a clicker but without clicking that much), not how I like spending my time, but ok.
UI is a little borked and the upgrades are free.

On the topic of accusations:
- I don't agree to @m2tias it is just transformative enough to pass.
- theme technically fits, keep the economy allive (@hagge)

It look like there are some bugs on your game.
- All the upgrades are free
- When you click on an other item, the sprite stay on the screen if you can't place the previous one.
- It's impossible to read the price of the lasts items

Anyway, it's a good start, you can make a cool idle game with that base.

Wow man, cool game, I'm impressed. I haven't heard of this game before. As a person with an economic education, it became very interesting for me. It's a great way to relax and feel in the shoes of world leaders. You did a great job creating such an amazing game in such a short time. I would be very happy if in real life I could buy a printer to print money, but I can only buy something like an HP OfficeJet Pro printer. Actually, I bought one and it turned out to be very good. You just need to fix the errors in the game, improve it and it will be very popular. I wish you good luck.

I wish this game came true. Due to a huge amount of work, I can't even spend time on gaming. I want to come back to the office and drink coffee during the breaks. It seems like working from home makes me too exhausted. I order new cartridges every month at https://www.mrdepot.ca/products/hp-mfp-m281fdw-toner. At least, they do not cost a lot.
