The Protector Of The Forest

Gameplay

On Strategic view: NextDay -> there is a chance of events/missions to spawn on map, if event expires it applies effect (probable damage to the forest)

So far missions can only be resolved automatically by clicking button "Auto" (Autoresolve). (Tactical playing the map was not finished on time so button "Go" is disabled) Our commando will deal with hostiles and then proceed with the mission. Bear will gain exp by completing missions and slaying enemies. (Unfortunately skill tree menu doesnt work, so there is no leveling up implemented)

From Authors

The game was supposed to be turn-based strategy game. Inspiration came from such games like X-Com, Fallout, HoMM etc. Unfortunately we could make the mission fully controllable (only drafts are available in "How to play"). So instead we added "Autoresolve/Autocombat" option for missions that appear on the strategic view screen02.png

Our team worked really hard and some of this work we didn't have time to impement. leveldesignscreen.jpg

We were working on some cool features like pathfinding, advanced combat algorithm (hit chance, dodge chance, attribute modifiers).

We hope we might get to finish this prototype as we imagined, after the LD46 is done.

Thank you and have fun!

First I was really confused by the game, since the tutorial doens't really work or has anything to do with the game ^^ The graphics were really good and I really like the idea, that you had in mind. Would love to see how this game plays, if you actually finish it. In the state it is know, it really gets boring fast, since there is not much variety in the quests. Also you don't really have control over the outcome of an event. Really nice concept though. The UI is also very impressive ^^

It seems like your game is unfinished and you didn't get round to implementing the core gameplay, I was just clicking the auto button over and over again until I died so I can't really give it a high rating but the visuals and audio are nice, it seems like it has potential!

Nice idea! I can actually visualize a more finished version of this game. It would be very entertaining! By now, I agree with the comments above.

I'd encourage to keep developing this game. I'd really like to play it then! :D

hi, First thing first, Good game, but There are some Problems.. The Music Volume Doesn't Work, The Music in the game isn't looped so it's just stop and there is no other music. but overall there are good graphics, voice and music and there's a good idea. Well Made.

There is not much to do right now, but I like the idea you had for the game.

The game is not completed enough for now. So the current ratings may not reflect your hard work. Hope you team will make it well!

I hope you guys get to finish this. It really seems like it might have some potential. For now it's not exactly fun, but the mood is great. It feels like there is a good game hiding underneath what is unfinished. My first play through, I got stuck in the "how to play" section. I could just move around, and that's it.

Great job, seems like you guys put a lot of work in to this so hope you get to finish. Had some trouble reading the tiny text in the UI windows. Art and music/sound are great, would love to see a polished version. Cheers!
