This is pretty clever. I like how getting killed makes the game easier/vision better although it's super hard to rotate in time even if you have vision hahah

A very interesting idea.
The turret rotation is a bit too slow to my taste.
I love how the game gets easier when you die.

Nice game ! I was a bit confuse on what to do at first but I love the fact that it gets easier when you lose ! Really interesting, I like the art style !

Great game. Works better with a theme of paying with your life or something, but it was an enjoyable experience none the less.

Nice game! I love the whole retro cartridge theme, and you've got a lot of cool, innovative mechanics happening here. The game getting easier as you lose more times is super unique, and I think it fits well with the objective of holding out for 30 seconds. I never actually beat the game, though, because I couldn't rotate fast enough to hold off the waves even when I could see them! Other than balancing the difficulty a bit, I don't think there's really anything I'd change!

Congrats on completing the jam!

Lovely game! I really like the sound effects and using visibility as an obstacle :)

**feedback:** It's a really interesting idea to have the game become easier as the player dies more. One interesting side-effect is that players who are good at the game won't see the graphics (which are really nice)... Maybe there could be some visual reward for users who stay alive

Nice reversed mechanic. Love learning how all those sea monsters behave.

I really liked this game. Interesting mechanic that losing makes improves the visibility the next time and the fact that the gun reloads and rotates so slowly means the player is forced to be more tactical with their shots and which enemy they choose to target. For example in my case I found it was better to focus on completely killing one approaching group of enemies at a time than alternating between different groups. Great game!

I really like PICO-8 games. That's a really cool engine. Your game is interesting and really hard. The rotation of shot trail preview is too long for me. Afterwards, nice work ;)

I had fun with this game, but can't win on any difficulty greater than Normal
Also difference between "Very easy" and "Easy" is really big.

I loved the range of difficulty options. Led to lots of replay ability. I'd suggest adding some acceleration to the rotation of the aim so you can more quickly turn around but also fine tune you're aim. Other than a fun time that I've already completed several times XD.

Very clever game idea ! The pixel art is very smooth and this idea of see more clearly the terrain at each die keep the player interested. You did a good job !

Awesome. First time I've played a PICO-8 game. Love the art style and the concept is something different. To anyone playing, just make sure you play it on something other than super easy to see the real game!

Quite a nice art and I enjoyed the idea. It is very challenging!

I found the control scheme quite unintuitive though.

I'like this game. At the beginning is difficult to understand where the enemies are. I agree with @madalaski about the acceleration of the aim.

I loved the art style of your game, I was back in past !
The gameplay is challenging, at first I didn't understand fully that we can melt the ice with a life, but then I understood x) And at this moment, I litteraly liked your concept !

However, I found weird to validate the choice with "Z" key, I was lost at first x) And it lacks of some music background.

Overall, good work !

I'm a big fan of Pico8 so I'm always excited when I see a Pico8 submission in a Ludum Dare. I think you executed well on a good idea. The ice melting mechanic is a cool implementation of player health. As a fellow Pico8 developer I think that that your UI in this game is really good. The way in which the pop-up messages slide together from the opposite sides of the screen is great. Overall, great submission.

Wow! That was a lot of fun, but more importantly, it was really inspiring on a fundamental game jam level. It wasn't just an implementation of a tried-and-true genre with assets mildly related to the game jam theme, it was an experiment with something new (or at least, new to me, and definitely not mainstream.) Plus, it's incredibly inspiring to see such a successful game-jam submission done with PICO. Fantastic.
