Desolation by Ollie Stone

[raw]
made by Ollie Stone for Ludum Dare 46 (COMPO)

Stranded in the dark and lonely depths of space, the fuel in your spaceship is the only thing keeping you alive, for now...

Mine asteroids for resources to keep your fuel levels high, and craft upgrades to gather faster, fly for longer or fix your FTL Drive and escape. Whatever you do, keep your ship alive.

This was my first jam and, while I unfortunately only had one day to work on it, I had a blast.

Includes a Mac build, WebGL build and a Windows build (not tested).

Make the WebGL playable online instead of having to download it

I like the idea. But I think the camera view should be a bit bigger because at this point I can't really get around the obstacles because of the speed and small camera view. There are also some scaling issues but you can probably fix that in the itch page. Cool game!

It looks like the game isn't scaling properly, the entire layout goes off the screen. Good job for 12 hours though!

Once I got the hang of it, it was really fun

Need to put the game in full screen to see what is going on, I am having similar issues when porting my game to WebGL. Also, when restarting the game it seems like I get the music loop on top of itself over and over again, there is at least something funky with the music here.

Props to you for creating the game in only 12 hours with sounds, music and all!
Had a bit of a hard time with the controls though.

Its a really nice flow, but the controlls are a little tricky, I think it might help if slow down the ship when the buttons arent pressed, but I guess it is part of the charm.. so maybe like play with it a bit, it's cool :)

Impressive for such a quick game! It's a nice concept, pretty fun when you get into the flow of it. As others have mentioned, your Canvas isn't scaling, so most of the UI ends up outside what we can see. (I've had the same problem too, multiple times!)

The audio is bugged, it starts a new track each time the game restarts but the old one is still playing. Well done for making a game though!
