Made for Ludum Dare 46: Keeping It Alive

Remarkable! The boffins over at Cheapo Solutions had come up with a solution to the ozone problem! Just patch it up with more ozone! Too bad it's fallen upon deaf ears and the industrial nature of the world had severely weakened it with holes appearing frequently. You, now being the pilot of this desperate yet untested plan, must patch up these holes with a blast of pure ozone. Don't let too many holes appear or you might just find yourself confined the life of a red dwarf.

(Though on a serious note, looking after the planet must not be overlooked.)

Nice concept, although I feel like the movement could've been improved. How did you make the textures for the planet?

Fun game. The holes could form a little faster to increase the urgency of the game. the controls were a little funky for me. I assumed that I needed the holes to be in the center of the ozone circle for them to close but found that i needed to fire early (before the holes ever made contact with the ozone circle) for me the get full marks. Fun game though!

@hexiez123 I got the planet to change colours by utilising Unreal 4's material parameters. This parameter was a part of the planet material that multiplies a flat colour which is then "added onto the planet texture information.

Cool game, had fun with it. I'm not sure if it's intentional, but I found I couldn't repair ozone holes unless I was moving over them; staying still and spraying ozone doesn't seem to do anything.
