- Pros
. I really liked the graphics, good work on them!
. I liked that you actually told a story and that the gameplay changed based of it!
- Cons
. There was no fail condition like a timer, I did not feel the urgenceny of solving the puzzle even though the story suggested that
. I kept thinking of that one movie that had the exact same story, I never saw it but it bothered me.
Statement
Next time add some sort of fail condition, otherwise it is no challenges. That is very important for a good game!
- sound could be a lot better, in the beginning the storm noise is kinda annoyingly repetitive and then after you wake up it's just complete silence
- graphics are pretty cool for the short time, really liked the pixel art, UI in general, placement of the items
- combining items is cool, using them is kind of a chore because you need to be a bit too well positioned
- Game froze after i tried to use farming soil and I couldnt walk anymore, only mess with the item menu :(
The only thing i somewhat disliked were the sounds. There weren't a lot of them and they sometimes seemed a bit off. I was also kind of sad that the game was so short but still respect you for the amount of stuff you managed to pull of.
Amazing work, keep it up.
The only thing that bugged me was I kept accidentally skipping dialogue, expecting it to fill in the text quicker. Think I've been spoiled by that mechanic in RPGs.
An improvement for the narration text, to avoid skipping text accidentally, would be that pressing E displays the full text and pressing E again when the full text is displayed would skip to the next one. Also some visuals to show that there is more to explore at the edge of a screen (especially in the base) would be helpful. I almost didn't realise there was a second part.
Overall, well done on complete this!
