Red Baddies in Blue Sky Town by citsua

[raw]
made by citsua for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

You are the superhero that watches over Blue Sky Town. You protect the people from the forces of evil, using your only power...

Time Rewind

You have a gun, and citizens to save. For the next three days, the evil alliance of The Red Baddies has planned an all-out attack on your city. Every day, you can rewind to the morning as many times as you want.

You have all the time in the world, but will that be enough to save them all?

Good luck, hero!

This is really good game. The shooting animation is really nice.

Congrats on your project! I liked the general idea, the music is cool, and sound effects are nice. I had some problems with the shout mechanic, were I didn't quite know its range (and sometimes it flat out didn't work). Rewind was fun at first, but got frustrating as more and more baddies popped out in the city, and the lack of a mini map or something on those lines made the game a guessing game of where to go next, where I had to rewind every few seconds. Nevertheless, I had quite some fun, so well done!

It's a really fun game, and a great take on the theme. Normal difficulty was a bit "meh" so I went to extreme and that's when the fun begun, rewinding ~17238894 times to optimize the action sequence "kill him > shout at him > go trigger that plant > kill him > ..."

I had a lot of fun, thank you for this game ! :)

Am I a bad person for being disappointed there is no achievement for murdering all the civilians?

@dome there is an achievement called "Genocide" though... I'll let you guess how to get it!

Cool game! The sound effects really sell the vibe well, and the fact you mangaed to squeeze in different difficulty levels is impressive, well done!

Neat game! Like Frostfall said, audio is great, music too. Not sure how the mechanic would have worked out if there were more levels, but with only two it was good, and the rewind effect looks really nice! Was kind of funny that the cowboy would always be facing the same direction and running backwards sometimes. Difficulty levels was a cool addition. You did one yee-haw of a job! 🤠

Very cool concept. I like the idea of a game where you play as a peacekeeper rather than a simple shooter where you have to kill the bad guys.

I think there's potential in a game like this. You could add more ways to dispatch enemies and different types of enemies that aren't just trying to kill people. Like maybe there could be robbers who's plan you could foil by confronting them, or drunks that can start fights with civilians if you don't round them up. You could add a whole upgrade system to help maintain the peace, like security cameras, guard dogs, door locks, etc.

Great job creating such a unique game in only 72 hours!

Really nice game. Loved the shouthing mechanic(even though the radius is a bit off) and the cartoonish dangers hah. U did so much in such a tight timeframe. Well done!

Fun little game, great and executed well. I found it a bit hard to hit enemies with bullets. When I played extreme difficulty, it forced me to use the traps to kill the bad guys, which was really fun.

Well done!
