Keep the memory Alive by Ninsky

[raw]
made by Ninsky for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

In KEEP THE MEMORY ALIVE you play a little creature inside a brain, who is tasked to protect a precious memory from being forgotten. To keep the brain from forgetting the memory it has to be kept alive in at least 2 areas of the brain at the same time. Your goal is to get to the ripe old age of a hundred without forgetting this precious memory.

CONTROLS: W, D - walk LEFT MOUSE - shoot SPACE - jump E - heal a nearby memory (press multiple times)

You can use the minimap to transport to other areas of the brain.

I know this build is quite buggy and unfinished and I still want to add powerups, animation, tutorial etc. But I had some problems with getting a build done at all. So I'm happy I have at least something to show :)

I love the artwork! The pixel art is so pleasing to look at and the colour scheme really helps the mood. I really enjoyed playing this game, my oly suggeustion is a little more explanation on what to do at the beginning would be great.
But overall a fanatstic effort and really smart little game.

Wow this game is really hard. But it looks pretty cool. Nice idea to travel through the brain by clicking on the mini map. The soundeffects are funny ;)

The idea is nice, but it's very difficult to keep the memory alive! At least for me it was. Nice graphics and sweet background music though. :) Good entry!

Great art and interesting concept, but it seems to be bugged; I get a game over while there are still two bars with memory stuff. The map colours on the map are also incorrect, the blue dot actually bring you to the room with the green bar, etc.

The art is very nice and the concept interesting. It's probably too difficult to track down what is happening at the moment, the minimap could probably improved by adding the number of ennemies in each area of the brain.
Nice job

Cool game with very original idea! I think some instructions at the beginning would be helpful. Maybe making the map more visible by changing its color or make it flash to make the player better see it. At first I fell down and couldn't get out and then I realized I can make more than one jump XD

The idea fit completely the theme. I like the map system and the fact that we have to be aware in many part of the Brain. Graphics are nice but it feels more that we are in a forest than a brain. A bit difficult, but it's a good entry. :)

Really nice work! I love the art but I missed some in-game tutorial that explains the controls and the UI elements, it's quite difficutl to play without these knowledge. But good game ! Congratulations.

A little difficult to grasp the working, but overall nice entry. I loved the graphics and music part.
