EDO by Jozef

Endless racer with a dash of chaos element.
EDO is a mischievous extraterrestrial driving in one-way (in the opposite direction!). He's trying to get home but as we all know the alien technology is not very advanced so he needs to fly off a cliff to be able to take off. Oh and don't even get me started on his alien engine. It's fragile, needs lot of power and overheats all the time! Can you keep it alive until EDO takes off?

If I were to make suggestions for improvement, I'd suggest letting the alien drive forward and backward so they can actually be strategic in how they navigate around the cars. Also, water works for coolant too in desperate times, but that's just from personal experience.
Also, take the black cars out, as they blend in with the asphalt a little too well.
We have to grab a wrench, but when i hit space, the tentacle goes towards the middle of the road, and I tried for 5 minutes but I just can't get it.
Edit okay you have to use your mouse, but it was not written

Not sure why by I had some performance issues when hitting a car. The number of spawned particles could be the issue. But overal great entry and beautiful not grey thumbnail
I like how complex game is. There is a lot of elements to manage, they are both super funny and present cool functionality. It was very hard to manage all of them once i started playing, but that's charm of the game I think. I am going to be an expert on multitasking after this :D
Also the tentacle mechanic and aniamtion are super smooth!
If you were to develop, post-jam, I'd say simplify the mechanics a bit, the tentatcle grabbing things was cool, but the draggin/dropping from the inventory didn't work very well for me. This could be automated, so the play had more focus on dodging / collecting.
Congratulations for the game!
The idea is funny and challenging, I also really really liked how you did the tutorial (with an own level) this was really great for teaching player's the mechanics and it was fun!
I also really enjoyed the ideas like grabbing the icecream to counter the engine overheating. It has this cute and silly Point&Click logic which I really enjoyed. I also liked the variations, like how some smarthphones showed that mum is calling (She'll never believe THAT excuse for not taking her call, that's for sure!)
The gameplay felt really solid, I didn't realize any bugs, everything went smoothly.
I also really liked how your inventry is physics based and not like this "hard coded" slots :) It leaves you escited and be like praying "please don't fall off, pls don't fall offffff...! haha
I once picked up this propeller beanie lol, I wish that would have been some sort of time based upgrade or something :D like you can fly a bit when you activate it (if it does indeed do that, then I was simply too stupid to use it ^^)
The music was fun and fit the mood, it was also fun stealing things off of people and listening to their outraged "Hey! >:[" while being all like "Oh SORRY, I'm just a cute alien who really needs that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Teehee, thx byeeee!" xD
For a gamejam a really outstanding achievement, congrats to the team! :)
As for polishing and post-jam, I maybe add a bit more of a "snapping" as soon as you're close to the spaceship part that needs certain items, or maybe make them bigger, and if you're urgently lacking a specific item make it spawn sooner and a bit more often; sadly I've died while missing icecream because the only one that would have been there on time was blocked by a car :(
But that's really advanced stuff already, for a gamejam entry this was more than decent!
Good job <3
I do feel like certain elements of the game make it rather frustrating. For example, I lost due to lack of fuel. But I was unable to refuel because my hand slipped when I was trying to fuel the car, and then my tentacle didn't work when I tried to grab more fuel. I think that both the drag-and-dropping onto the car could be a little more forgiving, and I think the tentacle-grabbing is a little janky and sometimes fails to work for no apparent reason.
Nonetheless, I felt that the game was pretty complete. The audio complements the mood nicely, and the variety of characters and mechanics is fun and engaging.
One game-unrelated nitpick: I'm not sure, but you might be supposed to opt out of audio if you didn't create the music during the jam. I've left it unrated in any case.
