Immune Defense by Tempii
"We've all been thoroughly informed how important the immune system is for our health. Take the place of a white blood cell and protect the body from deadly viruses. It's your job to keep it alive!"
A little Top-Down-Shooter to keep you company inside. This is actually a couples project to see if we could accomplish a whole (tiny) game together. So planning and content were a team effort, while programming was on my part, and my girlfriend made the graphics. (Also, I made her write this, which made her quite uncomfortable because writing about yourself in third person feels weird.)!
Controlls:
-Move with WASD, or the arrow keys
-Aim with the mouse
-Shoot with mouse0 or space
Gameplay:
-In each level you have to kill all the viruses before they kill your human.
-Every virus damages the human in a specific interval, which isn't identical for all viruses though.
-You have to be patient while fighting the viruses since they can also harm you on contact.
Edit:
In the first level/Main menu you have to press the start button to start the actual levels.
I added a Day 1 Patch Version to itch, where the startmenu shouldn't be as confusing as before and I fixed an audio issue in the third level.
I now also added a version to itch which I will keep updating, current updates:
-I fixed a scaling issue with the UI, when you were scrolled in or out within your browser

I was a tad confused at first. The intro level is really a title screen, and the WebGl build doesn't load the 'start' and 'end' text. It shows perfectly if you download it though. The game is fun, and the music is extremely fitting. The final stage is perhaps a pinch too difficult, but then again, I could just be bad at the game.
Overall, good work though.
And did you get the "LEVEL COMPLETE!" message or did that also not trigger?
Normally there should be 4 levels, not one
The difficlty curve is definitly not polished a noticable ramp up for level 3 and 4 is intended though. Especially Level 4 is meant to be a real challenge, since I tend to make pretty hard games at LD and wanted to include at least one really hard level this LD also :)
Also of course there could be different enemy types later and we also thought of ally NPCs both of this wasn't possible for us to include in the entry though. Maybe we will ad stuff later to also make the game less repetetive (as @twistashio mentioned)
What exactly do you mean with "the WebGl build doesn’t load the ‘start’ and ‘end’ text"?
With exception of the "exit" button the builds should be pretty much the same and also seem to be for me.
Oh and which browser ar you using (I'm testing with chrome)? Maybe this causes the difference?

My theory is that other players simply figured the menu screen was the first stage and didn't see the buttons.

The misplacing of the buttons and text seem to occur because the browser is zoomed, I'll also look into way for fixing this.
Edit: I fixed the issue with the wrongly scaled UI and uploaded a new verion to itch (see description)
