The Apocalypse by jondalnas

[raw]
made by jondalnas for Ludum Dare 46 (COMPO)

In a world, where a virus has won over the world. You play as a dad, who has been tasked with the difficult task of bringing his asthmatic daughter medicine. She doesn't have a lot of time to live, so you have to be fast, if you want to keep her alive!

Controls - Use WASD to move - Use Space to jump - Use Left Shift to grab onto ledges, then press W to climb up

Side notes

As people have pointed out, I didn't have time to program in a way to quit the game, so you have to use ALT+F4 for now. There is also a bug, where you don't die from falling down a hole, there isn't a way to reset the game either, so you have to wait for the timer to run out, sorry.

Other than that, I hope you enjoy the game

Great start! I thought the parkour mechanics were interesting, but it didn't seem to reinforce the theme very much (e.g., it could have been any game). There were also some areas where I got stuck and had to wait out the timer to restart. I know how hard it is to make a platformer controller, so I'm not surprised with how short the game is. I will say this, though, when you make an executable game, make sure there's always an intuitive way to exit your game! I shouldn't have to know how to alt+f4 a game to exit it.

phew, my daughter survives another day!
Enjoyable mechanics, even though they aren't perfect, the animations are solid and your graphics are nicely themed, they could use some work though haha, like the massive scaling of the wooden planks, the super tiny fire barrels, and the tiny pallet haha, i felt like a giant and a midget at the same time.

I also had the issue of being stuck in between the buildings not being able to wall jump back up, also the wall jumping was my biggest enemy in this game, a bit hard to manage, the gravity pull made it hard to maintain upwards momentum, but sometimes, i just flew through the wind like superman!

Also i got glued to a wall while falling at some point, not being able to move away from it.

And finally, like Incobalt mentioned, you should have a way to quit the game **especially** if you force it into full-screen!

Your game made me want to see the end. Even though there are a few bugs (try grabing a left edge for example) the platforming was good and challenging.

The timing mechanic was a good idea, I think it could have been better to make really short time spans that would be refilled while standing next to fire barrels.

Good job overall :)

Cool game, very nice animations and graphics. The wall jumping physics were a bit hard to get used to thought. Overall, very good start to a nice parkour game!

The parkour mechanics are mostly good, though wall-jumping was difficult because I wouldn't get enough height sometimes.

Some things here are super cool and some not so much. The platforming mechanics are crazy chaotic. First I thought I managed to cheat by wall jumping because it looked to bugged. The player characted animation is raelly good looking. Cool game but the theme is a bit of a stretch...

The movement was hard to get used to, but I loved the inclusion of grabbing ledges, the animation for that was solid. Game was a little on the short side but lots of time seemed to be spent on the mechanics so thats not too surprising. Overall, solid game. Good job!
