Thanks for adding ​checkpoints. I liked the idea of improving Flappy Bird to go in many directions.

Turning left and right repeatedly was pretty hard, but I liked it anyways.

Like the concept of a multi-direction flappy bird where you navigate through an obstacle course, however I did find it a little too challenging. I was able to get to where the saws but couldn't get further than that. Otherwise really cool.

Congrats on finishing a game entry in 3 days. There's not a lot to talk about with a clone game, but at least you can say that you finished a project, and that's always a good thing. I had trouble playing your game, but I also had trouble with the famous Flappy Bird game that this seems to be modeled after. This is a very difficult game to play. one good thing that you added was the ability to go forward and backwards, which is a nice mechanic. Good job and keep making games!

Love this. The idea of making a game like this with the flappy bird control scheme would never have occurred to me, and I'm really curious about what else can be flappy-ified next. Impressive work for 72 hours.

great execution of your idea! i would have liked to see a more original idea though, considering it is a game jam. Game jams are great places to take risks and try something new

When people call this a clone game, are they referring to flappy bird? I felt like it was very much different in the implementation of the controls, and I think it's super unique. I love hard games so this is right up my alley! I like the clean art. It would be interesting to play with the idea of "longer presses mean higher jumps" since it might make things easier, and maybe feel more responsive. Good job!

I liked this more than I expected to. Between the tough shortcuts, the shinies, and a couple of difficult stretches there was some good thought in the level design.

Oh my god this is sooo hard! Can u add a noob mod without the energy please ahah. Nice little game, there are some good ideas: coins to be collected, checkpoints. With a little music it would be perfect. It could make a good mobile game =D

Never thought I'd give a game with Flappy Bird-like controls high points in innovation, haha. I don't think I've seen any other games where you have bidirectional flappy-like controls, and it does work well!

The art is a bit on the dry side and the missing sound is a bummer, especially considering that you could've easily taken free sound effects for a jam game.

My only complaint for the gameplay is that it's a little bit too hard for me - I would've loved to have more checkpoints.

Still, I love the concept and I enjoyed playing this, even if I didn't come far. Great job!


PS: Reading the other comments - I really don't agree with @almighty-games's "There’s not a lot to talk about with a clone game" and @gentoogames "not an original idea". This is taking the original game and adding a whole different dimension to it, namely a level to navigate in and the ability to actually move in all directions with a very limited control schema. If someone told me to expand on the idea of Flappy Bird, I very much doubt I could've come up with something as elegant as this.
