Love the small file-size, the minimalist but fitting graphics and that the sound effects are synced up the music apparently? Loved it!"},{"author_name":"pvwradtke","author_uid":"3728","time":"Dec 16, 2015 @ 12:24am","epoch":1450225140,"text":"This is a good one, a different take on the two-player coop. I liked the graphics and animations, and the mecha kinematics was good as well. Not to mention the most important part: there's a Linux binary, from a cross compile Makefile. Very nice! I gotta say, I'm stealing your Makefile (was too lazy to come up with one on my own) for my next Ludum Dare. Greetings from a fellow Linux game developer :)."},{"author_name":"crucknuk","author_uid":"53686","time":"Dec 16, 2015 @ 12:52am","epoch":1450226820,"text":"I liked it, the graphics are nice, animation too. The style was perfect and the take on the theme as well. Liked it. Only the jumping part got me confused sometimes. I loved the mechanic of the walking\/jumping. It made dodging the bullets\/jumping the stairs and gaps rather fun. I got the little robot dude to start doing hops in the air. It was super fun to speed run actually!\r<br\/>\r<br\/>I think it was lacking music however and the graphics, while simple and effective were a little dull. (Maybe some trees\/little objects to stomp on would of been nice.) But I know how much little time there is, so overall it was a really nice charming game! I had a good time playing! Now they are planning to use\r\ngigantic aliens on their attacks.\r\n\r\nIt' up to Earth's two best mecha pilots to face it. Call a friend,\r\nsynchronize your movements and move toward victory!\r\n\r\nAlso, be sure the listen to what the commander has to say, in case things go\r\nwrong.\r\n\r\n\r\n Running\r\n------------\r\n\r\nIf the provided binaries doesn't work for you, please leave a message on the\r\ncomments bellow. If you would like to compile it from source, refer to the\r\nREADME on the repository.\r\n\r\n\r\n Instructions\r\n-----------------\r\n\r\n'F', 'Left shoulder button' - Move left leg\r\n'J', 'Right shoulder button' - Move right leg\r\n'F12' - Go fullscreen\r\n'ESC' - Exit\r\n\r\n\r\n Note about music\r\n---------------------\r\n\r\nI ran into a bug which forced me to remove the song from the game. However, you\r\ncan find a binary to play the song in the folder 'song'. Just double click\r\n'run.bat' (on Windows).\r\n\r\n\r\n Note for Linux users\r\n-------------------------\r\n\r\nThis game depends on SDL2. Check if it's available through your package manager.\r\nOn Ubuntu, it can be installed through:\r\n\r\n$ sudo apt-get install libsdl2-2.0.0\r\n\r\n\r\n Tools used\r\n---------------\r\n\r\nLanguage: C\r\nLibraries:\r\n * SDL2 - \"low level stuff\", window creation, input event handling, texture rendering, audio output etc\r\n * GFrame - Game Framework, assets loading, physics, sprite rendering, input abstraction etc\r\n * c_synth - Song rendering (although it didn't work within the framework)\r\nGraphics: Gimp\r\nText editor: Vim\r\nMap editor: Tiled\r\nSound effects: Bfxr\r\nTimelapse: Chronolapse (will be uploaded tomorrow, 2015\/12\/17, probably...)\r\n\r\nNote 1: Since the music is a MML song, it was written in a text editor and rendered with c_synth.\r\nNote 2: Both GFraMe and c_synth were written by me. :) (sorry, couldn't waste the chance to brag about it...
