Well done! Some problems I had with the game was when I jumped in the air and there was nothing there I would die for no reason. Maybe if you could explain the mechanics to the player beforehand that would make for a more enjoyable experience.

Quite difficult, but fun little game.
You should probably make collision a bit more in favor of the player.
Since the game is a 'Die & Try' I'd probably remove lifes limit as it is a bit frustrating. Even if I understand its purpose ofcourse.
Anyway I had fun with your funny characters, and sounds used.

difficult and nice mixed up take on the endless runner format. I liked how you were put straight back into the level, I would of liked some of the levels to restart as at some points seemed impossible to complete. Really liked the main character design and the amount of different controls allowed so much accessibility.

the number of lives lost, or cheese, seem weird... at times i lost two at a time, and sometimes just one. maybe you guys intended it this way, but it wasn't explained to the player. i think you should look into it!!

Interesting game and really fun yet really hard :D. I really liked that the game kinda pauses for 2/3 seconds before the mouse starts moving at the beginning of each level. Infinite lives (not just 10) would be a great addition :D

Neat game! The simple controls were a nice touch. It was a little odd that hitting the clouds would kill you so with some adjustments I think this would make an enjoyable mobile game.

28. Apr 2020 · 01:09 UTC
Simple but actually kinda fun. But the randomness is too unforgiving, depending on how the nuts position themselves it can get impossible to progress. Pressing a key to reset a screen would have been good (even if it costs a life).

Interesting - the graphics felt a little out of place sometimes, and the difficulty curve is a bit odd like others have said, but it's playable and decently fun. Good work!

Apart from the invisible collisions and the deadly nuts (haha why they would kill you and the mushrooms wouldn't) - it's very fun to play! I like the simplicity, just jump! Some bits are mad impossible if you respawn at the wrong time (the worm bit), but reloads really quickly so isnt too annoying. Good job!

Really cool game. I like how collisions just blow up the mouse . Some of the hitboxes could be improved but overall really nice game. Also, I think all the invisible collisions people are talking about are actually the clouds.

Fun but super hard! The fact that the clouds and other innocuous-seeming objects would kill you made me think this was like the "kaizo mario" equivalent of endless runners :P The difficulty was a bit inconsistent, either due to randomness (like the nuts falling down) or cycles of certain objects moving around - the spinning log screen seemed pretty much impossible to me. Still an interesting experience though, nice work!

Fun game, but it seemed unfair at times. The patterns were a bit too random, and not being able to control the sideways motion makes some screens literally impossible to pass first time. With a bit of polish and playtesting it could be a very good runner. Nice job!
OndraSej
01. May 2020 · 21:26 UTC
The game is catchy, but parts of it felt really unfair and stacked against the player:
- with the random generation and slow movement of certain parts of the environment (clouds, moon, flying pigs) and the auto-running, it is impossible to not lose a bunch of lives.
- the bounding boxes seem to extend well beyond the objects, and it felt like in many cases, the mouse died even if it seemed like it would make the jump.
- you might want to fine-tune the controls, to make it easier to control the height of the jumps. Currently, the dynamic range of the jumps seems too small, and it is very hard to avoid low-flying obstacles.

Otherwise, the graphics is OK (though seems a bit inconsistent), and the music and sound are fine and fit the game nicely. Despite all the issues mentioned above, I still had fine trying the game out and retried a couple of times before finally giving up.

so. this is the 2nd time playing your game. the game is very very cool! the game intro is wow! the game itself is very funny and enjoyable. the graphics you chose are very cool and the game over dubbing is awesome. 2 problems. 1. when the game starts the photo is pixelated and only after few sec it becoming like it needs to be. 2. in level 3 (i think ), there are like Logs falling from the sky. when i die, they are not falling again. except it, the game was wow!

The most polished intro I have ever seen :o Other than that, the game was quite difficult, but fast-paced and fun for me also. I died after the 5th or 6th stage xD Cheers to that level design. For me the only point I felt you can improve on is the particle effects (the 'dead' animation is a bit dull). Other than that, great soundtrack, great gameplay and humor <3

JAJAJA, Está chistoso el juego. Me gustaron los gráficos y el hecho que TODO lo que tocas te mata. Muy entretenido. Buen trabajo!

the gameplay is straightforward yet intriguing. The upscale of the difficulty makes it pretty frustrating to finish all the level, but it's fun nonetheless. A way to save progress so I wont have to start over would be a nice touch. Good job!

Was so confused when I got killed by the cloud lol. Also not sure if it was intended, but the flying pig got turned around and wreaked havoc on the rest of the game for me, ended up on on part with him and my little autospawning mouse just thrown into an impossible blender D: I think what might help with dealing with the randomization, is rather than autospawning, have the option to click to spawn or another button to spawn, that way the player can wait as long or as little as they need.

fun (but also frustrating) little game. I think the randomisation is hurting the game; on one level there were some nuts that fell from the tree and I'm convinced they were in different locations on different playthroughs. If you could reset the scene completely on each level (including moving enemies, etc) then this would feel more like a test of skill rather than having luck influencing it.

The flying pig was very cute  and the mouse too, of course. Nice, not easy though - the jumps are hard to calculate and often lives are spent trying to get the length of a jump right. But fun! Good work!

Argh. A rage game! xD
it's an interesting concept...enemies which travel from scene to scene. and falling nuts were random too.
pretty inconvenient of my spawning inside the enemy at one point though (flying pig) so iframes after respawn should definitely help there.

Very nicely chosen art and audio, go well together. Everything can kill you in this game! Even nuts lying on the ground are deadly (which I discovered to my sorrow ;)). It is a very hard platforming experience and I am pretty sure I suck too much to see the end ;). But it's a well-made game and a great jam job.

Controller didn't work though (I have Xbox 360 Wireless), keyboard worked just fine.

Cool one button game! :)
I enjoyed playing, and also I like the funny audio and the graphics, even though the art style is not very cohesive.
Because the enemies don't reset when the player dies, some levels get harder or just different (and sometimes impossible) to win on the next try, for example the first level with the nuts.
I would have like more control over the jump height, but it is also funny that as a player we have so little control. ;)

I managed a perfect Speedrun in the end (41s)

https://youtu.be/I5ZKTWmKp-8

Edit: Unfortunately the video did not record my microphone so here are the main points I made:

1. I liked the feel of the Movement, it is well implemented

2. The graphics and audio are nice

3. Overall a good implementation of a classic platformer Good Job!

That was really challenging. I liked the way the progression was just smooth horizontal transitions. It was immediately easy to understand. What I didn't get was why I couldn't step on the nuts that fell to the ground. It seemed like logically I should've been able to stand on them. Maybe if they used a different graphic, like spikes or something it'd be more obvious?

Anyways, nice job! I had fun even though I wasn't able to reach the end because it was too hard lol

Fun game! Appropriately difficulty and cute graphics and audio. I enjoyed playing it, and there was a great quantity of levels for a jam especially! I liked how the mouse would go back and forth and how the mushrooms acted. There were often multiple ways to complete each level. One thing I noticed was that you could wait for the big flying piggy bank to leave, and the level would be easier, but that is one tiny thing. I think this game is a really good entry! Well done and keep up the great work!

Edit: Well done on making this game so compatible with your porting and controls!

10. May 2020 · 14:04 UTC
Great job!

I love the simplicity of this one. The fact that the level does not reset is kind of a double edged sword. It can make it easier sometimes and then you feel lucky, but most of the time it feels more frustrating than anything else. The fast respawn with music continuing is well done. The dumble jump mechanic is nicely explained through level design.

Thanks for the game.

Nice game!

I feel like the game would need a bit of work before it really hits the theme, right now it is like any other game where the goal is to stay alive (so most games). I like the concept tho, and it was definetly a world where everything was out to kill you! (even the clouds, thats EVIL!)

Though you opted out of being rated in graphics, I will say that they fit the game perfectly.

Most importantly, the game was FUN!

Good job!

Felt like the levels was pretty random sometimes and that you could get completely stuck if you didn't make one in the first try (those chestnuts falling down blocked my path completely, perhaps I missed something?). Played it through to the end. Short and enjoyable, but frustrating. :P

Controls are good and there are enough different obstacles to make it not repetitive. You should just work on the cycles of some enemies and obstacles. There are sometime unsolvable situations.

Analysis...

1 - Mechanics, Learning and Flow:
The game is a platform game at the same time that the player's character (PC) remains running all the time.
The stages have a lively design, each attempt to play can lead to a different experience (due to the movement of some entities and the draw of the fall of some challenges).
Unfortunately, you already start running at each stage (which can lead to certain deaths). This could perhaps be changed in a post-event version of the game, for the possibility of waiting for the best time to go (despite having a built-in challenge to already start running).
Learning to play was easy, the game favors given that there is only the jump command to be used (the rest depends on perception).
The game flow left me a little frustrated on several occasions, but I didn't lose interest in the game. I just felt slightly wronged at the same time that I felt quite challenged to proceed.

2 - Graphics, Audio and Narrative:
The graphics are very simple, especially from the PC (which took a lot of work (on the scene) for me to understand what it was about).
Besides, the graphics were very good and gave me a comfortable, nostalgic and immersive experience.
The audio fulfilled his role (as I see it).
The narrative does not seem to have been the focus, there is not much to talk about. Run wildly from side to side until you reach the end (alive).

3 - Culture:
The game reminds me of old runners and platform games, with exaggerated challenges (size of some objects quite different from the scale envisioned).
I missed it and competed for humor, because I found it very funny.

4 - Monetization:
I believe that the game can be very polished and built in different "worlds", each with a small thematic variation, so that each world should be spent with an initial amount of lives. In this sense, the game (in case of interest in continuity on the part of the creators) could be sold in stores like itch.io or even Steam.

Now there's a face I've not seen in a long time... There's a lot early on that really does a good job of setting the tone of "this is meant to be this difficult". Good job!

This is a really fun game and I couldn't help but laugh when I exploded into a cloud. Gave me Cat Mario vibes. Some of the RNG aspect felt a tad bit unfair, but other than that I enjoyed it.

A Cat Mario game, but it is more consistent in its rules and infinite runner. For that of game it is good, but this type of game is not for everyone

Quite cool entry with fun controls! :)
I liked the graphics you chose and the sun made me laugh, lol
I also liked that you didn't just chose obstacles that will kill you on hit, but rather different ones and some you can even jump on although the kill you pretty much all the other times. (Walnuts)
I would have enjoyed it more if you didn't die and had to start all over, as I feel like this would fit your game better, as it's not really a "learn it by heart" level like for example Geometry dash, but maybe that's just personal preference.
The music was nice, the game over sound a bit odd, I would choose a different one :)
All in all cool game and because of the simple controls this would also make a cool mobile game I think!

Comment based on @SYRAPTOR gameplay. Amazing job, you did a twist on a classic type of game. This has lot of potential. Keep working and doing more levels. Congrats!

Awesome game, really enjoyed the sun taunting me as I went passed. The one think that confused me for a while was how some mushrooms bounced you up but some didn't. I think a change in colour as well as size would help players realise that they perform different mechanics when collided with.

Nice game! A bit hard for me, though. Sometimes the levels & controls are a bit confusing or even frustrating. But overall, nice entry :)

Game seems well done, but way too hard for me. I was able to get through about 4 or maybe 5 screens. Way not my kind of game. Still, I can appreciate the effort that went into it.
