That was nice! The controls were odd at first until it started to make sense. Great mood, reminds me of old flash games.

Clever puzzle. The art is awesome; not only quality pixel art but also just a great noir aesthetic. The tune in the background also fits the aesthetic nicely and is quite catchy.
Since it is short, it's obviously not a huge deal, but I didn't realize hitting Escape would restart instead of pause. I beat the puzzle even though I actually died - I think when I bounced off the basketball it triggered the end cutscene, even though the character then fell to his death. (This is purely to satisfy my curiosity: I get why the initial large drop kills him, but why the short drop off of the car :D ?)

@fc85057 Thanks a ton for the wonderful feedback! I really appreciate that :) And the idea behind the player falling to death is that he slips on the road and cracks his head, ouch! So it's more about the slip than the height of a jump that causes the death. And ooo, I'll have to fix that glitch, I haven't bumped into it yet.

I really didn't get it. Maybe I don't like puzzles games or something. I was pretty frustrated that I couldn't walk on the street. How does that make sense? I don't really like tutorials but I felt maybe one would be necessary for such an unothidox style of game.

Another thing! Who binds the 'J' Key? Is that a French thing?

What I like
- The floor is lava
- The game somehow combined zombie, thriller and detective/spy feel into one, which is neat.

What I think could be improved:
- The goal was unclear. Maybe show the girl in trouble, or the "Get to the balcony" hint right at the beginning. That way player know immediately "what" they want to do, and can get on to figuring "how".

- Dying immediately at the beginning is very frustrating, which can turn off people. I think it can be solved by making it humorous in someway to ease the pain (it's very common in "impossible" games like Getting Over It - the guy himself is funny, or the Impossible mario-like game I forgot name)

- Maybe make a logical/understandable reason for "The floor is lava"? At first I thought it was because the character fell from height, but then I realized he dies whenever he touch the ground and I was like "That was no sense at all!?"

Nitpicking:
Game is too short. I was like "Oh! I finally get how to play this g... WHAT it's already over?!".

Maybe add 1 or 2 more levels? You see, I finally managed to beat the zombie and got into the girl's room, maybe a level about unbuttoning your shirt could be a good follow up :p

First of all, I love the graphics, atmosphere and IDEA of the game. The first level alone is just so damn hard, even when knowing what to do, that I couldn't get past it. I tried a lot of times, but I just couldn't get the timing right! I'm a bit sad, because I'd love to see more of this game, but it's impossible to get through right now. However, I do feel like you definitely know what you're doing in terms of art and atmosphere, so with a few tweaks to the gameplay this would be awesome! Good job, and good luck in the future!

Neat little game! I was definitely looking forward to some more levels. The little "reveal" button popped up and I was like "No way! I can definitely get this!" And after a bunch of "damnit"s and "no!" shouts from me, I got there. Great mood. Perfect audio to match the artwork. Nice job!

@josephdevelops The objective "Get to the balcony" displays at the very beginning, and there are some mini hints that show up throughout the game. About the ground; it's raining, and the street is wet and slippery. You slip and crack your head which then results in death (a great way to integrate the loop idea. You die and are reborn to the beginning)

And J just felt logical as space was taken for jumping and I wanted to keep the controls more simple and efficient by having them all on keyboard. What would you switch the shooting/throwing key to?

Great job with graphics and mood! I liked the idea of everything being slippery from the rain, but I didn't understand it at first. I think it would be more intuitive if you exaggerated the slip animation a little bit when you die and added more water in puddles on the ground and maybe dripping from the sides of the car.

Awesome art and music. Controls were quite unforgiving, but with enough practice I was able to beat stage. I have looked into hints, but honestly all that could be figured out by player himself. Nice entry.
