water it by monblu
You have to water the plant to keep it alive. Dynamic and fun game, you can play it in coop.
Enemies are trying to attack the plant so you have to avoid them and you can beat them by making them touch water.
CONTROLS: Player 1: WASD to move, 'space' to grab. Player 2: Arrow Keys to move, 'shift' to grab.
enjoy~

Brilliant game.
Greato Jobu!
Thank you so much for the feedback, it's truly heart-warming <3 ! I'm thinking about a feature where when we put the plant down, the plant will grow (bonus) so the player is forced to not always carry the plant.
PS: I didn't think these simple minimalist graphics could be that much enjoyed x) I did all my best to juice it as much as I could and it seems quite effective! Juice is important!
Great game, everything fits really well together and its really polished! Really satisfying to kill the enemies by guiding them into the water. When it happened the first time, I was shocked and tried to replicate it by guiding them in water again.
It was really interesting when I had to make split second decisions about the water. Few times I really had to think if I want the water for myself or to guide the enemies there.
It would have been cool if something happened over time (after I got 200+ score it felt empty ish…)
Maybe at 100 score a new slower enemy appears. Slowly the player speed increases. Stuff like that….
The first few times, I died really early as the water was not spawning or the spawn location was just out of screen / not visible…. Also the enemies were sometimes spawning really close to me (maybe it would be OK if they stayed frozen for 2/3 seconds before moving).
Really cool game! Bonus points for making it co op :D
@prackli Yep I totally understand with the boredom, the game feels not finished but it's a good start i guess, Thank you for the feedback!
@euforia-games 180! That's huge! Well done, glad you had fun playing the game :D, that's so cool that the coop mode is being played too!
@hcursino I agree that the game could have an end or some little objectives, i should be considering that. Thank you for the feedback!
@zerohbeat DAMN!! 504, that's a mega huge score we have here! Thank you so much for playing and the feedback, it helps a lot! Indeed having some little objectives could be really interesting too.
@le-don Thank you for the feedback! I'm totally aware that the game is a bit too simple, i will try to work on that! (btw to kill enemies you have to make them touch water, by any means (grab water or entice them toward water))
Everything works smoothly, but it does get dull quite quickly once you figure out the way the elements are balanced. There's no reason not to hold the plant at all times, and there's little incentive to kill enemies - killing them wastes precious water, they respawn almost immediately, there are never more than two of them, and you can outrun them. While you DO get more points by killing them, since the game is easy and unchanging enough to be played indefinitely with little risk, there's no incentive to rack up a high score.
The text boxes and effects like the enemy trails looked snazzy, the music is good, and the minimalist objects didn't look bad, though almost everything being a square was a little bit boring considering the underlying game was on the simple side too. Other than not being particularly exciting there aren't any glaring flaws, though, so nice work especially considering you said you only did this in one day.
It did get a bit samey after about 100 score. I had to start inventing my own rules to keep it interesting: Only allowed to kill the enemies if it is a double kill (1 water vs. 2 enemies), that made it a little more fun, but there was no end state to attempt to achieve :).
Nicely done!
@blue-pin-studio Thank you, i haven't even thought about the colour of the text and the background, nice that you'd point that out!
@magnanix The game is too boring after a few minutes, i'll definitely work on that! thank you for the feedback!
There's not much challenge in the gameplay, since you can always outrun the enemies(maybe make them faster, but give them some inertia, so that they need to be avoided using sudden turns, or just add more of them?). I also had no reason to ever put down the plant.
Improvements that I would think about, slowing player acceleration speed, enemies shoot, and reaching 111 points without my plant growing was trully dissapointing çnç, if there where just 2 more sprites for the tree i think the "being to easy" would be more easily forgotten. But for the really well done minimalism... I couldn't read the tutorial properly without trying to merge with my screen XD It could be only for me but it's a thing to think about accessibility.
