Tokamak: Fusion by Schuster

Title.png Play.png

Inspired by Tempest, Tokamak: Fusion tasks you with collecting stray particles within a Tokamak fusion reactor. As you collect particles, the fusion integrity will rise, generating more power over time. When the integrity drops to zero, your game is over. Try to generate as much power as possible!

WebGL2 Link: https://mdschuster.github.io/

You move the collector around the edge of the Tokamak torus, either clockwise or counterclockwise with the arrow keys. When a particle hits the collector, the fusion integrity increase. The integrity will decrease every time you miss a particle and it falls naturally over time.

Hi! I liked the graphics and the music was great! Also, the idea for the game was really good, and played pretty well. Sound effects were on point, so you did good there.

Some improvements could be smoothing out the transitions? When you press left or right arrow keys, the player kinda jumps to its new location pretty suddenly. You could possible Lerp this, or even better create an animation to make the game look even more polished. You could also maybe have different power-ups? Something to entice the player into keeping on playing.

Overall though, a pretty good game!
Well Done!

Your game looks and sounds pretty cool. I felt like I was in charge of a Soviet fusion generator  Maybe an explosion in the end would have put a cherry on top? :boom:

Fun little game, with how good the music was it was shame it wasn't tied into the gameplay in any way to be honest. Picking up those little orbs to the rhythm of the music would've been great.

Nice little jam game. Audio was great, and the graphics matched the concept really well. I wanted to be able to hold down the arrow keys to go spinning around faster, and I felt the particles were too random for me to develop a strategy to collect them, but overall a very solid effort. Good job!

this games nice, overall I feel like the game douse everything it sets out to do, if I had to give any criticism I think it would be good for the game to include some sort of scaling or more scaling over time so the game ends at some point.

Fun Game!
I really enoyed playing this game. It had a great artstyle, good design and good audio. The only thing I wish it had was a link between the audio and the gameplay itself. Overall great game

Neat little game. Took a little bit to get used to because the curved track made it a little unintuitive where the incoming orbs were. The orbs seemed totally random rather than being generated in a way to make it possible for you to get all of them, which was sometimes a little frustrating since it felt like I had no choice but to miss a bunch.

I think this could've used a *little* more depth - just orbs of two sizes and no goals to work towards made me lose interest pretty quickly. Maybe stages that ramp up in difficulty or some sort of upgrades or something along those lines would make it more engaging.

Cool idea, cool implementation! Especially if you consider that this is a solo development. Visual and sound create a great atmosphere, it's fun to play! Great job!

Maybe a little too difficult, but beyond that I really enjoyed it. The aesthetic and music were great and the controls were much better than I had expected. I don't know how people make stuff like this in two days, it's crazy to me

Nice game but it was a bit too challenging! Had to adapt to the controls at first but then it was okay! Greato Jobu!

Dig the glowey vector graphics! The controls took a little getting used to, though. Might feel more natural initially if you spawned the player at the top of the circle, so the first movement the player makes maps to the directional key they pressed.

It was more challenging that I first expected. Since the tube was 3d, it was hard to anticipate which orb would arrive first, quite tricky.
Maybe it's just me, but I turned my keyboard upside down, found inverse controls easier haha
Nice little game, well done!
