FEED HIM

Description

Feed Him is a game where you are a slave to a monster.

In order to keep him alive you must feed him human bodies.

Throw a party every night to satisfy his appetite.

Distract your guests using the boombox, knock them out cold and take their bodies down stairs to throw them into the monsters mouth.

Controls

  • WASD to move
  • Space to attack
  • E to travel up/down stairs and pick up-drop items.

BEWARE! Every night you complete is harder than the last.

You knew exactly what you wanted to make and executed it. Very good scope for the circumstances of the jam and nothing was lacking.

Mechanics were kind of wonky - maybe just not fully implemented? Seems like I could only punch one person at a time, no matter how many were within my "punching range." But, it's very clear you spent some good effort on setting up the graphics and music for the game, and the concept is definitely one of the most unique I've seen in the jam so far!

Such a hilarious death sound, it almost makes you feel guilty feeding those people to the monster. I feel like control could use a bit more polishing since it doesn't feel very natural yet, but otherwise everything is how it should be. Great entry and great work!

@daniel-cox Thank you! and yeah I had the idea at the start and it came out pretty much how i envisioned it.

@devook I know what you mean about the punching sadly I wanted to fix it but didn't have enough time to go back and remake it. And Thanks for the feedback!

@sonmi Glad you enjoyed it!

@congusbongus Thanks!

@lestat Thank you :D

@saltfactory-studio Thank you! I wanted to polish up the controls a bit but alas ran out of time.

Nice game, audio was great. I didn't find the boombox that useful. The guests would walk into the walls and just stay there walking on the spot which made them easier targets. Also I'm not sure what the bars above the guests heads when they're dancing were supposed to represent?

@akai-0okami Thanks for checking it out. The boombox is used to gather a crowd of people to one spot so you can lure them closer to the monster. And the bars are distraction meters once they fill all the way up you could attack anyone near them and they wouldn't run making them easier targets but the bar would them be set to half way and you would need to wait for it to fill up all the way. I was originally planning on making the people be able to climb the stairs which would make the game much harder but sadly my partner had to go halfway through the jam so I didn't have enough time.

The game is near perfect but there are things like performance and controls are not good enough. Somehow the walk and interaction gives me some delays. Others are fine such as graphics, sounds, musics, and the story. I love how the UI indicator shows, also it's great because it needs a feedback to the players. It's kinda fun actually and stressful at same time lol.

It is a funny game, the space attack seems to have a delay and the characters tend to get stuck in the walls. Gameplay is quite simple, but it works, so well done :)
