Variety from verse to chorus would have made it more dynamic. (This critique also applies to the drums remaining the same throughout.)\n* The verse melody seems to simply be following the bass notes. There are a few sections where you waver to other notes, I think, but generally it's the same note. The chorus vocal melody is a decent hook, but the verse not so much.\n* There are no chords. With these bass notes you have the classic I V vi IV chord structure in C major ready for the taking. \n* Props for the solo, I'm not even gonna critique that.\n\nDown with capitalism. :fist: ","likes":2,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Skleembof","author_uid":"1165416","time":"2020-10-06T17:40:50Z","epoch":1602006050,"modified":1602006050,"text":"This is my ringtone now","likes":0,"format":"md"}],"format":"md","images":["ld47\/219937-c091811ef31723a423c5344259965bfb.jpg"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/github.com\/mrwonko\/OpenJK\/tree\/ld47","text":"Youtube"},{"url":"http:\/\/mrwonko.de\/files\/unlisted\/ld47.zip","text":"Youtube"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"63103","g_author":"1008408","g_event":"LD47","g_eventkey":"76","g_subevent":"JAM","g_urlkey":"278026","g_title":"A Song with a Catchy Chorus and a Solo","g_status":"PVT1","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"2","g_site2_node_id":"219937","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":{"n_key":"219937","n_urlkey":"278026","n_parent":"212256","n_path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/47\/a-song-with-a-catchy-chorus-and-a-solo","n_slug":"a-song-with-a-catchy-chorus-an","n_type":"item","n_subtype":"game","n_subsubtype":"jam","n_author":"8408","n_created":"1601638401","n_modified":"1601937910","n_version":"688075","n_status":"COMMIT"},"node":{"id":219937,"parent":212256,"superparent":9,"author":8408,"type":"item","subtype":"game","subsubtype":"jam","published":"2020-10-05T22:45:10Z","created":"2020-10-02T11:33:21Z","modified":"2020-10-05T22:45:10Z","version":688075,"slug":"a-song-with-a-catchy-chorus-and-a-solo","name":"A Song with a Catchy Chorus and a Solo","body":"I mostly just wanted to get into composing and learn about music theory.
