Check it out now!
Btw also please rate my game!
I did not expect all this from my first ever game jam! Again thanks for the kind words!
I also became a pro at it by this same method xD
Please also rate my game! It would help me a lot!
I really tried, I swear, but I didn't manage to get past the zombie, how do you do that?!
Anyway graphics are nice, as someone else said the jump sound was getting a bit irritating at the 78th try :'D Just wish I could go further in the game ^^'
You just have to go under the hole, under which the zombie cannot enter!
Thanks a lot for the kind words!
Please also rate my game! It'll help me a lot!
Its a bit weird that the jumping sound is played every time you are in the air, and it tool me some time to understand that I need to fall right to the zombie, and get away from that half circle spikey thing.
Also going to note, I can't see floor all the way at the bottom. That might cause people to struggle with the zombie as they don't realize they can drop down to the right of it.
For it being your first game jam and a compo, you did great!
@alex-jilkin
Haha, i didn't know it was hard, yeah the sound plays every time we are in the air, but I thought that's okay for a 48 hrs game jam.
@bb_buster thanks for the kind words!
I will improve the collisions when I release a bigger version of this game!
@mutuware lol, the death sound is like you are directly falling from the sky!xD
@thecritterscove
Me too, I completed the game in under 30 sec as I mentioned earlier.
I don't know what you mean by you can't see the bottom floor, can you please exolain that to me in detail? I wanna fix that.
@grhyll yup, I'll attach the proper screen shots in some time!
Can you explain me in detail, what do you mean by there was no ground, but just one platform?
I don't seem to understand what you both want to say.
Anyways thanks for the kind words!

As @grhyll mentioned, the bottom tiles aren't showing in his and @thecritterscove browsers
Please try my game on google chrome if possible! Also thanks for telling me about the problem! I also just posted the WINDOWS version for this game!
Check it out!
@mountday i didn't quite understand what u meant by being killing by the air, can you explain that in detail to me please?
@cirno yup as the other also commented that the hitbox was a bit larger! I thought that the hitbox was very small before i made it larger, my fault! Also can you send a screenshot for your browser showing everything in red?
@steffy The game is pretty easy!
You have to fall under the pit and then continue to the destination!
@shaurya-juneja This is my browser showing the game.
Thanks a lot! I love that
@onury bro, if you want more levels, then please wait a few days! I will update my game!
I'll add at least 2-3 more levels! Be updated!
@derek-volker thanks for the kind words!
As the level is too short, I wasn't able to do what you said. I will publish more levels!
@piturnah thanks for the feedback!
Don't forget to rate my game! Thanks!
Anyway, the graphics are nice and the sounds make the game enjoyable for a few minutes. Trying a few times is fun and the game would benefit from an easier first level in my opinion. But its a very solid first LD game from you. Well done!
Yup, i will update my game and add more levels!
I will make other levels easy and make them the first level.
Anyways thanks for the feedback! Also please rate my game!
It is a bit easy, but I hope you will like it! Watch out for the new update!
@gamefive lol, watch the YT video...You would get an idea of how to play!
Anyways, thanks for the rating!
I am making a better jump sound, because almost everyone, including you, complained about it!
Only one level? =d
All of the feedbacks i could give were already posted, so continue your game!
@rhoffsch i have been working on adding 1 more level! It would be the first level and the second would be the existing one.
@emiliabea yup many people told that! I am searching for a nice cool looking font for it!
Anyways, thanks for the feedbacks! I really get motivated by them!
Also, please rate my game!
Your game works very well. I guess the biggest complaint I have is that it feels just like every other platformer. There is nothing new or special about it.
Since this was your first LD i think you learned quite a lot and the next time you can make more levels and try some more innovative mechanics :)
Yup, I thought the game is too short, so the new update with a new level is rolling out today on my game!
Only some optimizations left!
I hope you liked the map!
In fact, this was not only my first ever game jam game, this Was also my first ever game.
I hope you liked the map!
Ohhhh noooooo! My misdirections didn't work on you! Oh crap! 😂😂 I really learned a lot in this game jam! My first experience- seems to be very pleasing, and everyone here, like you seem to be so nice people, motivating others!
Anyways, thanks for the feedback!
An important thing though, you submitted this as a Compo game, and the rules state that you must supply the source code, so you should probably upload that.
Congratulations on your first LD game!
I did not add checkpoints, because i did not want to make the game more complicated.
Btw, it is written in the description in the controls section that you can do double jump by hitting space 2 times.
Yup, now i have added the source code of the game!
Thanks for the feedback :)
Also, great job on your first game jam!
Did you play both of the levels or only one?
I am asking this because i added the new map not more than .5 hrs ago. Sorry, i would update the collisions in a next update!
Thanks for the feedback! :-P
As I replied above, I will update those in a future update! Maybe next!
I kinda think that the character and the zombie looked nice.
@sillyman987 Thanks a lot for the feedback!
@zanzavar haha! I know it's pretty funny :D This is actually not even my first jam, this is my first ever game that i created completely! Thanks a lot!
I think the main character's design clashes with the rest of the artstyle and I think it's a weird decision to have the jump sound play when you are falling. But these are nitpicks, since you made the game in just 48 hours. For that timeframe, it's well done :)
Everyone liked the death sound!
Yup, the little character is kinda out of place. That's actually a glitch, whenever you fall, the jump sound plays.
Thanks a lot for the loving feedback!😁
* The 'jump' sound effect plays even when you're not jumping, e.g. if you walk off the edge of a platform. It should probably only play when you press spacebar and gain upward momentum.
* Some of the terrain elements you need to navigate between are very close together (like the fire to your right and the platform above you in the lower right corner of level 1), so you need to navigate into a very precise position or you die. But, the controls are digital rather than analog (which is fine, in itself) and you move very quickly (which is also fine), so it becomes very hard to position yourself (which is less fine). I'd suggest that when the player starts moving from a stopped state, they have a brief period of acceleration before their reach their full movement speed, so you you make small adjustments in position by tapping rather than holding down the button.
Beyond that, good job on your first game!
I am looking forward to make the player controller the way you told!
Anyways, thanks for the feedback!😀
Sorry for the. Colliders!
Thanks!
For example, Level 1 could be a very simple level that involves merely jumping over gaps or obstacles. Level 2 might introduce avoiding harmful objects such as spikes or blades. Level 3 might introduce a tricky maneuver such as jumping atop a dangerous object or jumping over a projectile with careful timing.
I felt like the game started from the middle, and left me having to figure everything out all at once. Add the fact that everything is so unforgiving (no health points, instant death, no checkpoints, etc) It only took me a few minutes to rage quit and move on to the next game.
Regardless of these points, the game physics felt alright, the controller seemed to move correctly, the graphics and sound were all fairly good. Level design is an art in itself. I recommend reading up on the art of good level design. With enough practice, your games will start to become addicting. Best to you!
edit: I think you should add more levels ;)
Thanks for the kind words!
The controls are really good though. Tight and precise as they should be. The jump could use variable jump height depending how long you press.
The sounds are not good. They don't fit together even if their loudness were the same. The jumping sound is badly implemented, it plays when a character falls from a platform (which it shouldn't) but doesn't play on the second jump when it should. Additionally it gets cut off abruptly when the character is no longer in the air.
There's a sound indicating starting movement (or continuing movement when landing) which doesn't seem useful, but there's no feedback sound on landing on the ground.
Music choice is nice but it's placed nonsensically. The loops are cut too short and are drowned out by the other sounds.
The same aesthetic incoherence goes for graphics, everything follows a different style and doesn't create a unified whole. Still despite that, the game is visually clear, which is good! It is never confusing what is background, what is foreground, what is an enemy, etc.
Aside from the zombie, you have a few different spiky enemies, a few different looking spikes and fire which all serve the same exact function of a static obstacle. There's no need for this much variety, especially since their visual styles don't work together.
There are other minor bugs with sprites and animations. The player randomly disappears for a frame. The zombie is floating and not touching the ground. Fire is jumping around which could be fixed by adjusting the pivot of sprites better, or slicing each sprite the same way.
As for the stuck on walls comment above: here's where I was able to get deliberately stuck.

I think the level design for the first two levels is really good for some tutorial style levels, but when there wasn't more I was disappointed (Which I guess is a good thing, because I wanted to play more).
That said, the game is extremely frustrating not due to the skill of the player, but because the hitboxes are just very unforgiving.
Great job, either way!
Btw, how did you make in-game song? Was it auto-generated or hand written in some music tracker?
I don't really see how the theme applies here.
I didn't find it particularly challenging other than a couple of jumps. Shame you only managed to make two levels.
Some kind of death effect would have been good.
Until I realized I could double jump

Is this your first game, as well as JAM?
The graphics are very inconsistent. Maybe you made them, or just used graphics here there and everywhere. Some are overly detailed, others are simplistic. They fight against each other that way. Spikes everywhere :joy:
The music/sound effects are hilariously bugged. When I fall, I hear a jump sound. When I land or run, I hear a drop sound. And that death sound had me laughing
But all in all it was a game that looked like effort was put into it, so I like it. Nice Ludum Dare game!
Rules are rules, please stick to them in the future.
There is what dates I see in the "edit date" (dont know what the correct english translation would be) of some of your sprites.
If you really made those graphics on your own I am really impressed with some of them. But to be honest if you look closely your sprites have a mixing art style which is confusing when you say you made them by yourself. If you can do some of this stuff I would assume you can constantly make the same art style. And as a skilled artist you would do this instantly. But thats not the case here.
[Your character can be found here.](http://mate-max.com)
I really dont want to search for all of this, but just by simple googling I can find this stuff. I appreciate your effort for adding more content to your game but in no way its fitting the rules. Sorry :I
Edit: Nevermind I just checked the Compo ranking and he's 12 places above the last one, sorry buddy but that's deserved
