C.E.R.I. - Construct. Expand. Research. Improve.

CERI is a game where you control constructs that harvest the resources, create more constructs, defend against hostile forces and create improved constructs. It has modular unit building using randomly generated parts.

Controls

  • You can play entirely with mouse.
  • Left mouse button to select units, either by clicking on them or box selecting multiple units by holding and dragging.
  • Right mouse button : Issue move order to selected units.
  • Hold right mouse button: pan map.
  • Mouse wheel: zoom in or out

  • * Numpad +/- *:alternative for zooming in or out

  • Hold Shift: Select multiple units

How to Play

  • First you research part types in Research window
  • Then you develop specific parts in the Develop window
  • Once you have all the parts you want, you can create a blueprint in Development window
  • Then you can create your units with the resources you've gathered from Fabrication Window, they will get queued up and be built from any construct capable of building units.

Big things that are missing or broken

  • General
    • There is no Offensive Parts or attacking implement.
    • Enemies don't have an AI.
    • Stat balancing - quite a few stats are not balanced, and since there are big parts of game missing(i.e. attacking), it doesn't grant balancing them.
  • Research
    • Research tree only has the very basic parts implemented.
    • Both research window and development window does not process progress while they are closed.(!!)
  • UI
    • Unit selection is lacking visual representation, box selection is not visible(but it works).
    • Selected unit information UI not implement.
    • Unit ranges for various actions not visible(harvesting range, construction range, etc.).

I had no idea about controls or how I was supposed to do things. Maybe add the controls to this LD page?

@nurkkacthulhu Thanks for the feedback! I am already working on it

Also i added web-browser version on itch.io, for ease of use.

This game reminds me of the old Flash days. If it were finished, I would play it for a good while :)
The biggest flaw at the moment is the lack of information - other than that, the game looks pretty solid so far!
