Love it, atmospheric, good amount of content, and fun. Nice work!

Excellent entry: the clean artwork and atmospheric soundscape really sold it for me (despite the audio not being yours, great choice). The platforming controls did feel a little loose considering the limited freedom for screw-ups afforded the player, but that didn't get in the way of my enjoyment too much. Well done!

To me, this is the perfect example of making a game. It's so simple to play, and it's challenging, in the right way. I enjoyed it from start to finish, and actually beat the whole thing. Thank you for making it, and you got yourself a follower.

I forgot to feed it water the first time, I was too engrossed trying to open the doors. Once it clicks its a really neat design, and the pixelart is lovely.

WOW! Totally impressed by the depth of this game. When you think there won't be more rooms, there are loads! The difficulty level is also perfect.

My only thing to mention is when first playing, it wasn't too clear that the food weren't enemies, so I was anxious about going up to them in case it was game over! ;) Overall, awesome job. You deserve to do well in this jam!

Very cool idea for a game, I like the puzzle-exploration element mixed in with the obligatory "keeping it alive" aspect. It makes you want to explore and figure out the connections, but with a bit of an added specter of the water running out, it also makes you have to choose sometimes between water or food which is an interesting dynamic to play out. You did good!

I really enjoyed this platformer, the timing and level design made this a really fun experience. I twas exciting to find out what was behind each new door.

Lovely tree, fun game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/BkQLNdwwwdM

Nice retro gaming style, with cool atmosphere. It was realy fun to play your game, the only drawback is soundtrack, a little bit annoying.
The controls are perfect beceause there are smooth, in a good speed, so they make the game very pleasant to play.

Loved it !

I always get stressed out by platformers but I feel like this one found a good balance of exploration/zen/stress and not too many jumps I really hated. I actually finished it in one go. I expected to fail and not being sure I would try again.
Nice job. Oh and I love the tree and the sound it makes :D!

The little guy was great and animated nicely. I beat it on my second attempt because the first one I didn't realize what the difference between the green and blue guys did even though you demonstrated it in the first screen. I got it the second time.

Very on point with the theme, the camera shake is nice, the tree art is great. My favourite thing about this game is the sound the tree makes when it is fed.

This is great, great level design and love the ambient soundtrack and all the different portals. Also enjoyed your Untitled Goop Game last LD. Cheers!

A brilliant little game - I loved the artwork (really nice run cycle!) thought the ambient music was really nice and atmospheric, and that it was a really great balance between exploration/calming gameplay and tension/the ticking clock. Thanks for sharing!

I really liked the game and the ending. I would like more levels and a little less water to increase the difficulty. (I had about 3 left) Keep up the good Work!

Excellent entry, polished and with enormous potential for further developing. I didn't encounter any problem (maybe the platforming is a bit rough but the game is more than playable), the music was super moody and the art matched everything else. Congratulations!

Really nice game, but after opening four doors on the tree I couldn't find any more green things?

@aik One of the doors has 2 green things, you may need to double back. :)

Relaxed AND evil :-) This was a lot of fun to play, maybe some upgrades for the player would have been useful/fun? (higher/multiple jumps, higher speed etc.)

Eventhough there is not much of it, the art is really amazing! Along with the atmosphere and overall goal of the game, I was enjoying every piece of it and now I would love to have some more! Great job, this is going to my list of the bast entries of this LD. Thank you for such a lovely experience!

Nice and relaxing and a really nice platformer. I really like the fact that there is enough water available just in case you messed up. Looks really great too!

This was a really inspiring experience!

I got a bit careless the first time, since I was lost in my own thoughts due to the relaxing atmosphere of the game and didn't notice that the hydration-meter was so low.

I made haste, but the tree died literally just a second before I was gonna bring it water.

---

I really like the minimalistic style and the blend of platformer/"puzzle".

The level design was also quite clever.

I found the ambient music really fitting, but a bit short. It might have been better if it was a seamless loop. I also could've swear I heard a hint of bass-track somewhere hidden among the soundscape.

I anticipated that the song might develop as you progress. I've seen (I mean heard) some games utilize such technique, and I think it would fit this game really well. Like when you feed the tree some "portal-seeds" and you progress, the BGM would add really subtle bass/drums/melody to the mix.

---

Also, I think the way the tree grew immediately so big from such a little sprout was a bit abrupt.

I think the scene would benefit from one or two in-between levels where you'd see it grow to be a corrupted monster.

---
But all-in-all great job, and very well-put together.

Keep making games!

Fantastic game. The design of graphics and music give me a feeling of fez, that soft, gentle, beautiful sense of pixel art, so enjoyable and so delightful. The only thing that I want to suggest is that I think space or shift would be better as jump key instead of up arrow because the arrow keys are used to be used as moving but jump is another action movement and there are some bugs at the beginning of sound and music. Good Job!

This is a game with an interesting atmosphere. Despite the rush to always keep the tree watered, the music and the color scheme almost make it meditative. Nicely done!

Enjoyed this, reminded me a bit of starseed pilgrim. Liked the theme a lot - much more fun to feed a corrupted tree than a normal one :) Everything was solid, great platforming implementation and difficulty was pitched just right for me.

I really loved the balance of feeding the tree water and seeds - I'd open up a new door that I want to explore but knowing that I should go get the water first was a cool experience!

Wow! From the very first note on this game is amazing! The music is magical. The way you introduced the basic mechanics is very well done. I love how you progress through the levels by opening new doors and sometimes revisit already seen places. The platforming aspect is great, not too hard, not too simple.

I am thankful that I found this game so close to the end of LD46. A real gem! Great job!

Great game. I was quite impressed with the way this was put together. In most games it stays simple for a while to teach you how things work, but it didn't here - yet the player (or I at least) wasn't overwhelmed. Every step of the game just made me want to see what would happen when the tree had been fed enough. The ambience really fit well with the whole thing too.

I hope you continue working on this. I'd love to see the outcome of that.

The graphics are so cute! 💜 I do feel horrible feeding those poor creatures to the tree, but otherwise a very relaxing game, especially with the lovely music. 😭 Good growl sounds for the tree and the platforming felt good! Nice work!
