AutoMate by nelow
+ Mate is a robot,he found out he could transfer his consiousness into his comrades ...
+ AutoMate is a puzzle-game where you have to think about "how can WE pass it ?"
To pass the doors, you can use 2 abilities, first you can interract with the buttons, lever and pressure plate.
Second, a rollback comes every 12 seconds no matter what. You can also do a rollback by yourself. When the rollback is finished, your consiousness has been transferded into another robot and the used robot will repeat your previous actions.
Use your robots to help you to finish the levels and pass through the red doors. Don't forget to open the doors for your rollbacked mate, or he might be stuck !
:joystick: --Controller are recommanded !--
xbox controller:
A = Interract
Y = rollback
YY = RESET
Left joytick = move

My only gripe(s) would be the fixed camera angle as sometimes it would clip through the walls or I wasn't able to see where I wanted to go as much I would've wanted to. Also you might want to change the ROLLBACK sound effect as it got a tad annoying after a while.
Solid entry! Well done :D
The controls are a little too, ehm, on steroids? :D
Thank you for reporting this, I don't know what happened.
I don't use Linux but I just built the game to Linux, would you like to try it ?

I would like to know if it works out of the box on linux, because this time, I didn't make it WebGL compatible :/
Beautiful to look at. Awesome music. Really clever and challenging gameplay. The only thing I would have liked is the ability to move the camera because I tended to waste lives looking around the level to figure out what interactables there were.
Great work!
Sadly I had issues doing anything. Didn't know what key the second function was. Didn't know what to do :slight_frown:
Thanks you for your feedback, I'm continuing to polish the controls and the understanding of the levels as more people give me this kind of feed backs, without modifying puzzles :)
We're doing our best ! :fist:
One little thing that confused me on the keyboard and mouse version is the control scheme. Normally you would use E to interact, but in this case it was for rollback. That confused me.
But again, other than that, very fun!
had some trouble trying to find out the rollback key though, just ignored it tbh
First things first the obvious downer is the camera movement. It makes it really hard to make sense of everything that's happening.
Other than that it was a really cool puzzle game with some solid puzzle designs. I really liked the fact that you have multiple things to do in progression for each robot, this way in the end when you finally solve the puzzle it all looks like an elaborate, chaotic but at the same time calculated dance.
At first I hated the way the game makes me rush and speedrun through the puzzles and I thought of it as a genre-mechanics mismatch, but surprisingly enough by the end I got into a rhythm of things and almost screamed "Give me more fast paced puzzles to blaze through at a speed of sound!" when it ended a bit abruptly.
So yeah, it looks and sounds really good (I especially enjoyed the attention to all the menus), it plays quite well except the camera so if you have time and opportunity I'd suggest fixing it and uploading a post-jam version.
Great job overall!
I wish It was less hectic so I could enjoy the wonderful environment design :blush:
Searching for objects to interact with was a little difficult due to the camera movement tho.
The core loop was one I expected to see done a fair bit this jam, but I think you really got the best out of the concept, I loved having to stack them, and only being able to cascade by one was very interesting and a different take on the mechanic.
In the end, there's very little I can criticise. There seemed to me like I didn't quite understand the rles and sometimes I think I solved things in ways you weren't meant to, and it would have been nice to zoom out a bit or give me control of the camera as at times it felt a little claustrophobic. But honestly I think this is a fantastic entry. Music and sound was lovely too and there's a skill in finding music that fits your game.
Well done.
We are happy you like the game, we try to adapt our game with user's feedback :smile:
I absolutely enjoyed my time with this one, the puzzles were neat, and I adored the music you went with
Here is my playthrough:

Small Bug: Instagram and Site links are broken on the main menu in WebGL
Do you remember if you have rated our game in graphics category ? Sadly we don't have any result, and we are pretty sure we putted our game in this category.
I remember it was not available, which means you opted-out it from ratings (same as Humor). I assumed you used pre-made assets (which is fine for Jam). While I did notice the logo was pretty neat and original. I would rate graphics high though! :star:
