The textures are a bit boxy looking. Using some transparency for the trees would probably help a lot. Though many of the stand alone graphics are cute in their own way. I would suggest scaling down the text a little bit. There was one line I really struggled to read.
It's nothing fancy, but it's a pleasant game to play.
Texts sometimes got hidden by trees and also got outside the screen, it would be good to keep an eye on it for next games. A character animation would fit well too.
After all, it's a good game, especially for not using the whole 72h as you said. Good job.
I'm sure you were really pressed for time, so having animations wasn't really within your scope, but for future reference I might recommend just having the player sprite flip back and forth when you're walking. It gives the game a little more life in most cases :)
The game felt contemplative. Not bright and cheery but not really sad, either. I really like that for a small moment in a larger, sad event. Having gone through the death of a loved one, there are so many small moments of things you need to take care of that you just sort of do them without them evoking any real emotion. Even in tragedy, tedious tasks are still tedious. And that gives you time to contemplate. I feel like this game really captured that experience, in a positive way.
Got 19/20 flowers and I'm bugged by the last flower near the second grave at the top right. How does one get there? I couldn't even find a secret passage... Exploring the small world was pleasant, although there wasn't that much to do. Maybe for the next jam then?
Clearly you poured your heart into this project, yet I'll have to rag on the technical issues too. They've been pointed out by others, so I'll just add that the music volume was really low even when at the maximum setting on my computer.
Nice work.
Good job.
