Neat little game! Maybe once you got a bunch of towers the game felt a bit too easy! But very nice

Nice game! I like the minimap showing you what's happening. And the need to press towards the big spawner faaar away from the heart makes it an interesting gameplay choice.

Do you play tower defence, or you play tower offense :)

Well done! Congrats on finishing the Jam.

Top down tower defense + shooter, vaguely similar in gameplay to [Orcs Must Die](https://store.steampowered.com/app/102600/Orcs_Must_Die/).

It's not a bad game, but it's a little light (hey 48 hours). The towers seem very overpowered and I wish I could see them shooting.

The music was a nice touch.

Great twist on the theme. I love the inclusion of a minimap.

Fun game. Took me a couple tries to get the hang of it. The spawners seems artistically out of place, but good job overall.

Really enjoyed. Fun to play. The music was pretty good. I loved the minimap and the level design. Very original. Someone compared it to a tower defense game though I disagree. You clearly pointed out the "tower" you can set down is a barricade and the other power is an instant radius kill. While there are similarities, I would say yours is different enough that it doesn't follow the TD game model. The game play is interesting and challenging. Controls were a little weird to get used to and I wished I could have remapped them but I got used to them. One of the few games that I played until I beat it. Great job especially for your second LD.

I liked the music and graphics. It took me a little while to figure out what I was supposed to do. After that though I found it to be a pretty fun game. Good job!

For the timeframe, quite well done. I had fun!
I am sure if you had more time you would have added more effects to the tower. At the moment, it seems the strategy is setup towers around the heart and then charge forward.
I couldn't tell if the "thwomp" sound was background noise or was an effect that something was happening. Like something took damage or was it background noise?

Other than that, a great short experience!

First off the mini map was badass, looked really good great job with that. I really dig the idea of a bullet hell + tower defense game which imo is totally what I'd classify Anti-Toxin as. As a prototype you could not have done better mechanics wise. The gameplay loop is solid, the ability to defend works reliably well, and having stuff to purchase adds a surprising amount of depth to the game. Another thing worth mentioning is that you've struck a great balance with difficulty. Some LD games fall into either too hard or too easy, Anti-Toxin keeps you frantic and moving with a few moments of freedom to place new defense towers before back to the action. The only critique I have isn't even really a critique more of just a design opinion. I'd want to try to play the game without having player health and see how it was, I totally get that it adds a second layer of concern for the player to focus on but honestly it seemed like it really only prevented me from rushing the virus spawn point and I never really had to worry too much about it. Aside from that anything else I would have to say is just it would be cool as hell to see MORE stuff. But that's kinda the nature of the jam huh? Great job!

Pretty cool shooter game with tower defense elements. The towers could have some kind of projectile and maybe a health bar to be more clear what their state is. But otherwise pretty good job!

Nice solid twin-stick shooter. Your graphics and sounds are solid. You've got good solid gameplay. Not really anything to complain about (you even have multiple difficulty options so props on that level of polish.

Took me a few times to save Billy. At first I didn't realize there was a minimap or that you could buy towers - in one case I'm just dumb and thought the minimap was part of the wall so it blended in, in the other case the shop fonts are varying tiny sizes and blend in to the background if they're not on top of the dark red walls. Towers feel too op against normal enemies and too underpowered for hard enemies, given that the towers appear to be the same as just hitting the 'e' for instant enemy kills, which works the same on both normal and hard enemies.

Love the menu music, level music is kind of plain and repetitive, though I suspect looping the menu music as the level music would get annoying since it's got a good sound but not one I'd want to hear nonstop. Level music is at least tolerable on repeat.

Isn't clear at first whether or not to kill the big spawner - the goal is to kill all spawners, but the big spawner surges out hard enemies and respawns the other spawners with those hard enemies, which is kind of a negative reinforcement when trial-and-erroring. It makes sense in retrospect though.

I wish there was some way to sprint sometimes, even if it was a short-term sprint option with like a stamina meter. But that adds to the stress of having to leave the thing you're protecting so far behind, so it works well.

Good work!
