Loopy Hoop by Ratrat44
You play as a little yellow person with an oversized scarf.
You must use the scarf as a shield to protect your self.
The game was made within 24 hours. (Because I was so bad at thinking of an idea)
CONTROLS
-Move with WASD or arrow keys
-Press SPACE to move the scarf
also I think the game would work with a controller

Right when I was wondering what was stopping from standing in one place, the game started shooting lasers at me lol! I think it would be cool if releasing space gave your player some momentum from the scarf bouncing back

I like the artwork and music! Gameplay could be better though, I would prefer if it had a faster pace.

It was fun. Those pesky laser sounds are so annoying (the right awkward sound). Nice music too. I was specting to kill the laser heads somehow instead of pushing them around

WOW! This has to be my favourite game of the jam so far. I'll admit, I didn't get it at first, but after realizing the health packs made my hoop bigger I had a much better go of it. Then I thought "oh this is too easy now, I'll just keep crushing these fools", then the lazers started firing. It took me a while to realize they were coming from horrific creatures that I could only push back with the hoop, but it was so cool to see them for the first time. The last 10 seconds were the most intense I've felt in a jam game. Kudos to you, I love everything about this game. Nailed the theme, the art, and the sounds.

Took a second to understand the controls but had a lot of fun playing it, at some point lots of health packs spawned nearby in quick succession which helped me get going, until 6 lasers from the other side started shooting at me! Hahaha good times.

I like the tutorial included in the center of the playfield, it's super easy to pick up the game and understand how to play. I agree with some others, the speed of the player & enemies seems slow but that doesn't stop it from being totally anxiety-inducing when the lasers start beaming in! Really unique take on the theme, I don't think I've played anything quite like this. Nice work.

Fun little game, good that you added the laser beam else it might be to easy. I would also have added that the scarf after a few hits grow back smaller again to keep you moving more but as it is good entry for a 24 hour game

Has an immediately pleasing feeling and look. And pretty novel. It gives me ideas, you could do a lot with this! Great job.

Cute idea nicely implemented. Music fits well and it's pretty unique. I got totally screwed over by the laser beam the first time it apeared.

For some reason, using the scarf loop as a weapon felt very natural, also with the health packs making it bigger. The game controls are nice overall, the theme and sounds are great too... I think this could be a great starting point for sth bigger!

This is a really cute game. I like the idea of using the scarf as a weapon and also controlling it to move faster. Maybe have a be more clear when the scarf is protecting you or will cause damage if hit. Great Job!

You are literally stuck in a "hoop" haha! Very interesting and innovative idea. Played it on my stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/762084578

I like how you took the theme literally! The gameplay was good, could have used a bit more art and maybe some other upgrades.
