Hi there, fun little game, quite repetitive but really love the graphics, sound and control. Really neat production and quite challenging :)

With a few more features, I could 100% see this as a mobile game on the app store. It just has that charm that you'd find in some other endless runners such as Jetpack Joyride or Doodle Jump. Great game!

I really enjoyed playing it for a few times. I would encourage you to add more variation earlier in the game. It's a nice difficulty curve but for a long period of time the only challenge is to land on the crates. I would have loved to have the extra challenge added by the birds earlier. Also I would have loved to have a highscore since that is what motivates me to reply it, and also some score multipliers for achieving streaks collecting the carrots. Even so, I like it very much, nice increase of difficulty using the camera movement speed, the size of the crates and the birds. Nice vibe and art, not adding distracting elements. Keep it up!

Very cool game, game art is amazing, animations are very good, sound effects are perfect, everything is good except that end. You could add a menu..It should speed up at the end too, bc once you get the controls the game is actually pretty easy. the controls are very good by the way! Very polished game, congrats on that :)

Fun game, I didn't expect any depth at all, but then found myself playing multiple times to try out new stuff.

Loved the graphics, sound and mood. Will play some more :-)

Really good art, animation and sounds. Gameplay is also pretty good. Starts out easy but gets hard with the birds and fish. Good job! :D

Nice game! The white shadowy effect when the rabbit falls is really cool and in general the game has a nice amount of polish. The only thing I'd recommend is introduce some of the game's features earlier. It took quite a while to get the birds and big carrots and I reckon if you introduced them a bit earlier on it'd be more gripping.

I did like the large carrot though when it appeared. Was like a rare item or something. Good job!

Graphics and audio fits perfectly, I would love to see randomly generated levels! As someone said you could publish this game on google play. Just add some kind of shop with skins that are affordable for carrots or something like that!

Awesome. I think maybe the most catchy game I played so far. I enjoyed the repetitive music that help the game a lot. Don't know how you managed to do so well polished and balanced game in such a short time and alone. Seagulls stop it now! Great job!

Really great game, The music was catch, Graphics were clean and unique. One thing was the controls at the start felt unnatural but quickly felt good after first couple jumps and the jumping was felt very polished so nice job!

This was great! The graphics and music really make the game feel good to play. The controls took me a bit to get used to but once I did I really enjoyed it. The additional mechanics like dashing really add to it, and the variance that comes later on with the birds and all really makes it fun. It would be kind of nice to have more of those types of elements, and potentially to introduce them earlier on so the game moves a bit faster. This is a pretty impressive entry though, well done!

Really great achievement for a solo game project! I also got my sounds from zapsplat lol! I would mention that theres a double jump as I didn't find out until a few deaths. Great job!

21. Apr 2020 · 21:48 UTC
Very cute! It took me a while to realise that I could double jump and didn't *have* to hold the button. It flows nicely and the squash is nice when landing on obstacles. One thing I think would definitely make this feel a bit more responsive is if you removed the anticipation frames prior to a jump; I know you hold to jump but holding also makes us float while we're in the air, so we would have that control anyway. Overall a cute little package...maybe the new Flappy Bird? hehe. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your entry and feedback on my own!
Duke
21. Apr 2020 · 21:52 UTC
Nice twist on the flappy bird formular. The art is on point and works really well. Nothing to complain here!
The game progression speed is a bit slow and boredom sets in pretty quickly, so some more variations in enemies, obstacles and level layout would've been nice. Other than that, solid entry!

Your gameplay loop is really addicting with the juicy art animations and sound effects. If I were to add something, I would like the game to have more UI as to tell me what the level of the player does or what the bar on the bottom means. But overall, really solid work, great job!

Hmm, maybe it will be better if the controls was click to jump instead of hold to jump. The graphics is awesome though...

Nice little game with decent movemnt and visuals. However, I don't like how double jump works. I have a view, that if you made it on cooldown, it would work better and give player some room for decision. Additionally, difficulty rises too slow, it would be better to add new mechanics earlier.

Loved the game! Feels great to play though the small delay between pressing jump and actually jumping threw me off at times. And I wish the game ramped up quicker, the first 4 levels are too slow when you get used to the game. I think I would have continued to play longer otherwise.
Sorry to nitpick, I think I do it because the rest of the game is so amazing! Great work!

Art style is awesome! Very simple and effective mechanics, although there is sometimes a slight delay between clicking and jumping. I'm not sure how it relates to the theme exactly, but it's fun nonetheless. Great entry!

This is by far one of the most fun games I've played. I love the obstacles that come out later, with the bird and the fish. Evil birdy stealing my fish >:((( I also loved how you didn't center the race on the character, but it went its own speed. Really paced me there.

Hey! Nice game, it's fun but a bit too repetitive, I think you should increase the difficulty a bit faster to make it more interesting. Graphics are dope and the audio fit the theme perfectly. Why only using the mouse to jump ? In my opinion adding the space bar is good, it's a plus for some players and it cost you nothing :)

22. Apr 2020 · 23:49 UTC
I clicked for the rabbit sprite, then stayed for the fun

Great entry! The core mechanic worked flawlessly and was as simple as it was effective. Slightly faster pacing would be welcome, as the game starts feeling a bit repetitive before new elements start appearing, but it's not super critical.

Loved the graphics and sound/music too, congrats!

23. Apr 2020 · 10:50 UTC
Nice game concept and graphics are cute! Few criticism:
1. The game-play is repetitive and slow, maybe it could be bit faster and maybe have some obstacle in the way?
2. Hit-box were big, you should be falling in the water but the hit-box prevent it.
3. Longer jump (as in air time) make it less challenging. So maybe jumps could be shorter.

Very nice little game. It could be launched with some minor changes for mobile.
The instructions didn't mention the double jump but it was fun.
In order to make it more difficult the speed could go up a bit gradually or include some enemy that flies across the screen from right to left.
Keep it up.

Took me a while to realise about the click+hold even though it was clearly described, I got distracted by the double mechanic that I never really took advantage of it until late into my play session. I did once or twice get stuck on the side of a barrel, never quite falling off but unable to act until the screen pushed me along. I also would have liked to have seen the difficulty ramp up a little quicker than it was but it did give me time to practice a bit more. The background and foreground elements were really good and cool to see as they appeared and disappeared off, nice touches!

Great choice to only have one button. It makes it simple yet fun, kinda like flappy bird. Background music is very fitting and the pixel aesthetics are great. Player controller feels good and I like the animations.

In my opinion, the only thing lacking is a bit steeper difficulty curve. Now it starts to feel repetitive after a while. Otherwise, overall VERY good job, well done!!

Took a few attempts to get the jist of the jumping, really loved the animations and the art style.

If you continue post compo, I'd suggest the carrots scroll the same speed as the level, and maybe start throwing in enemies / obstacles sooner, as it becomes a bit of a grind until the seagulls appear.

Nice game. Good graphics, but maybe not enough contrast on some sprites. I like the one button only gameplay. Easy at the begining, and too much random when ennemies are coming. Inspired by "Super Mario Land 2: 6 golden coins" for the flying rabbit ears?

Cool core mechanic, real simple and effective! I dunno if you did this already as I didn't get all the way to the end but it would be cool if the ships in the background shot cannon balls at you when it gets harder :D As others have said, I can see this being a successful mobile game with a bit of polish! Nice work!

This is a really cool game. Beautiful visuals and animation, the music and the sound nicely fit the atmosphere, and the idea of a pirate rabbit is really cool. I don't have any ideas what to change. Port it to phones and go for the Flappy Bird audience :)

Great graphics. Would be better to have the enemies way before level 6 cause I felt it was too monotonous. When I hit the screen I couldnt move, so I could just wait for the screen to push me down. Overall good job

Cool game. Loved the pixel art. The main character was very well animated. You could have a short click lead to smaller jump though, that would help a lot. This would definitely work as a mobile game as well. However, I found it next to impossible to not get hit by the bird carrying the fish. A little heads up or something from the bird would be nice. Still, a great game overall :)

It's a classical game, but you made it well. The control is very easy and smooth and the increase of the difficulty is good. (Perhaps just the easy part of the beginning a bit too long). I love the pixel art and the mood. Even if I don't find it well in the theme (in every standard game you don't have to loose you character ^^) I enjoyed to play it. This is a clean little game.
