A Meatball by Slowpoke

[raw]
made by Slowpoke for Ludum Dare 46 (COMPO)

You play as a meatball. Make it to the goal without losing all your mass.

It's nothing particularly amazing, but I had a great time making it and ShaderGraph in Unity is amazing. Blender is also incredible, but I found out about ProBuilder halfway through. I'll save that one for next time.

Use the arrow keys to move. That's it. That's the whole thing.

It's a cool game. Little hard to control but it's good. Doesn't fit the theme very much but that's not too important. Good job!

Fun game. Reminded me of marble blast. The controls not lining up with the direction of movement was pretty annoying though.

Camera orientation is a bit confusing at the beginning but but it's cool

I don't know if it's just my brain but the controls were quite confusing, for some reason for me it's counter-intuitive to go down-left. Outside of that, good game !

Pretty cool little game! The controls feels a little too slippery for me, and the camera sometimes does not work properly. I like the concept!

* Fading out for resets is a nice touch.
* The c h i l l b e a t s are excellent.
* I like how it introduces new concepts one at a time.
* The movement can be quite finicky. I wish the ramps and sloped refill checkpoints & goals were more forgiving.
* The ball art is very nice, it's cool how you can see exactly how quickly you are rolling by watching the texture.
* The shrinking/growing meatball is a neat mechanic.
* Nice work!

Really nice game, I like the minimalistic visuals. I found the controls kind of confusing because they didn't line up with the direction the ball was travelling and it was kind of annoying having to line up with the first jump at the start of each level - that could have been fixed by just moving the player down a bit

Very well done, would love to see more levels. Controls are great, visuals are stunning, and the level design is brilliant. I will say that inputs should be locked until the player is on screen. Great Work!

I like the game solid, wish there were more levels. My only complaint was that the goal could be a little frustrating bumping you away so you couldn't get in the center..

Overall this was a pretty fun little game. My only complaint would be the controls feel a little wonky. I naturally wanted to hit Left arrow and down arrow to move downwards due to the orientation, and the opposite to go up, but this caused you to go diagonal. I would recommend either changing the orientation, or changing the control scheme to match with your current orientation.

I think the player should tilt the platforms instead of moving the ball, like in the Mercury series. Then, paired with an analog control, it would be incredibly smooth. Arrow keys are hard to use, especially with the camera tilted by 45°. Thanks a lot for making this game.

Your game is simple, but I actually really enjoyed it! The controls, once I got the hang of them, were fun to use, and the level design was clear and incremental. The graphics in particular were really sleek in way that can be pretty difficult to achieve in Ludum Dare games! While the game sort of connected to the theme, it definitely could have been a bit more clear, but other than that you made a complete, polished package that I had a lot of fun playing. Great job!

Pretty enjoyable game! I liked the graphics on the ball and the level design was really well thought out. Each mechanic was introduced gradually and made it very easy for the player to learn, which is an accomplishment. Would benefit from more levels!

Cool simple mechanic and a really well polished game. I will admit I ragequit on the level with the multiple platform going side to side where you had to go do a sort of loop around. Hope I wasn't far from the end!
