Loved the game actually! Relaxing, fun and stuck in a loop! :)
Nice music too!
Those sounds!
That was a fun little game, thank you
The Button feedback could have been even more pronounced thought :P
So, the meaning of the universe is that it is made of snails all the way down? Anyway, very cute recursive snail :)
Cute game, I liked the transition from the level to the snail at the end

I think sub 28 is possible, but that run was already very optimized
@arthurds try to beat me to sub 28 ;)

27.96 the barrier is broken!

i scored : 40.2
I also appreciated the possibility to adjust sound and test controls in the menu (:
I think the best possible score is around 27.5
The run for this one was near flawless
That collision sound is so satisfying tho.

I definitely played this several times and I enjoyed trying to beat my score. The twist at the end is great and seals in the theme perfectly.
Gameplaywise it makes for a great speedrunning game. A bit of difficult controls and also tight paths to navigate make for some very fun challenges. Very fun game, and satisfies my desire to live and race as a snail :)
I spent way more time than I'd like to admit optimizing the speedrun 0.1s at a time :D
I hit exactly 28.13 3 times before I managed to shave off another .13s. I feel if you use the strategies from my speedrun videos you should be able to make the sub 30 club. Just hit the turn key about 0.5 secs before you actually need to turn.
It was so much fun. But did not get to beat your score...
I used to improve the record .1 s at a time. It seems to be down to .03s at a time now :D
I feel like I got way more into this one than I anticipated. Having a record to beat seems to awaken something in me that I didn't know I had...
Also, the engineer in me was uber pleased when he saw that inception effect that starts a round over. That was super duper slick. :ok_hand:
I think the simple premise here actually lends itself well to a time-trial. It really makes the player search for any sort of exploits that they can take advantage off to shave off some time. Although I can't believe y'all are able to get less than 30-second runs. You peeps be nuts...
Nice job!
I like the simplicity and the visuals. Overall great job!
The use of the snail theme is fun, the graphics are ok, the audio is fun too with the little bop sound xD
I liked it, not crazy fun but it's nice ^^
The zoomout is really cool though, well played xD

The replay mechanic/animation is super cool, kudos on the technical aspect of that.
Not suuuper fun to play since the mechanic is just destruction derby, but I definitely gave it 4 or 5 runs.
Great animation and sound effect, and also could have done with more juice (particles / screen shake / etc) and more satisfying race mechanics (different acceleration curve / higher max speed / drifting / different collision physics / etc).
Also I love that they're snails :D But I found myself swearing at the "enemy" snails
Good job!
I was actually caught off-guard first, when I played the game: in the title screen, it only displayed WASD, so I assumed my controls were based on regular top-down movement. Instead, what I got was a physics-based tank controls, which took a little while to get used to. I also had difficulty getting used to the slippery controls, hindering my ability to optimize my movement.
The only other constructive criticism was that at first blush, the collision box of the snail looks like the whole snail would be relevant, rather than only its shell. While not a bad game design decisioin, it does have an unintended side effect of making the player think they need to make wider turns, because they think the snail's long body would collide into it. It also disoriented me on estimating when two snails would collide.

Maybe adding some gamefeel when is moving or hits with the environment, mix better the snails and the "spiral walls", that things could integrate better. But these are silly tiny things, it's a great game! Congrats!
All in all, a rather basic snail-spaceship racing game with little variation in game play but well implemented technically. I wished there was a little more to it! Still, good job :)
I think online leaderboard would keep people playing for longer (You are 25th, 24th, ....). I saw that implemented in one game this jam and it definitely worked for me :)
Thanks and see you next time! Cheers!
On a somewhat unrelated note, while not really a fan of twitch streams, I appreciate the great service you do for the community @elysiagriffin. Thank you!
