Epilepsy Warning: Game contains flashing lights & visuals

Originally had bigger plans for an interesting story utilizing the theme in a more clever way, but ended up having to scrap the idea to make the deadline. Learned a lot during this jam, and I'll probably end up taking this idea further in some form in the future.

I really liked the graphics and the audio was pretty good to, sadly the game play was kinda lacking.

I liked the graphics, but couldn't play long due to the constant screen flashing. Turn down the opacity of the flashes, they can still be great feedback when they are subtle.

Ouch, thanks for the flash warning! The flash and the shaking was a bit too much. Maybe just a shake when you kill someone will do nicely. Good entry. Can use some life bars, hit indication, and ducking with a cover system to dodge bullets for some polish. It looks really nice but the entire game was played after 5 seconds.

This was very slick, I liked the flash animation myself, I thought it worked, I managed to get a score of 12520 before being killed by a swarm of the enemies. Sound and music is also quite atmospheric - music especially is good - sort of dark techno vibes (and looks from the time-lapse like you composed it yourself). The overall mood was quite cyberpunk, and the graphics are well composed and consistent given the time limit.

Really solid effort. The gameplay is fun enough though perhaps a bit repetitive, was there any purpose to being able to aim up and down?? But apart from that, well done!

@mosegames Thanks for the feedback! I definitely agree that the gameplay could be a lot better, this jam was a tricky one since I was having trouble figuring out what to make.

@mike09123 Glad you like the graphics! I've added an warning in the description for now at least.

@no-grapes-games I appreciate the suggestions! Was intending to let the play duck for cover behind the columns in the background, but just didn't end up having time on the last day.

@drnoir Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Definitely focused a lot on the graphics, music, & sounds this time around. Initially I some ideas for more complicated randomly-generated environments (hence the maze stuff in the beginning of the video) including vertical movement via staircases, but ended up scaling back the idea to a horizontal loop as I ran out of time.

Great game! The music/sound effects and graphics are awesome, and I really liked the menu design! I think it would have been nice to have the player health bar visible at all times, and perhaps a bit more noticeable as well (I didn't even realize there was one until I started letting enemies shoot me to see if anything changed). But other than that, really good casual shooter game. I'd be down to see how you possibly take it further. Well done!

It oozes style and you did really good work with the stances of the arms, when aiming. However it got repetitive really fast. Maybe you would need to ramp up the amount of enemies faster (they seemed to slowly getting more) and I wished it would be more tactical like one magazin per room and you have to dodge the enemies bulletes, either by rolling or by seeking cover behind the pillars. The music was great, it looks really good, i just wish it would provide a little bit more :)

fantastic visuals, but gameplay lacked depth and did not see any way to create a strategy or do anything other than stand and take bullets while shooting. Would like to see this game added to. Great job!

Visuals are really amazing, love the flashing and vibration on shots as well as the sound effects.

If you do end up taking the idea further and giving the game some depth, it's going to be really cool. Well done.

Love the esthetics of the game, combined with nice loopy sound creates a great tense athmosphere. Good job!

I like how sound adds to the dynamics of the game. Wish a screen shake was a bit less aggressive ;)

Great game! The aesthetics are very nice, combined with quality sound effects and a dose of healthy screenshake. Perhaps my only complaint was - there wasn't much to do apart from shoot and evade. Maybe that's the intention (I did feel like I was stuck in a loop ;-) ) but I found the game too easy - I got a score of 16,850 first try. Otherwise, I love this game!
