Tic Tac Toe - Commodore 64 by tphx

[raw]
made by tphx for LD36 (JAM)
Text based action so intense you'll swear you're back in 1982!!!!

Two player text based tic tac toe for the Commodore 64. An ancient game created for ancient technology.

Requires a Commodore 64 emulator such as Vice. Load the .prg just like any other .prg file. If you are using the Vice emulator you can simply drag the .prg file into the emulator window.

If anybody actually has a Commodore 64 and a way to run this program on it let me know if it works. I am really curious as to whether or not it would work on a real Commodore 64.

Update:

Figured I would share all the software I used when creating this game in case anybody is curious.

Software used:

- Notepad++ (https://notepad-plus-plus.org/)
- Vice C64 Emulator (http://vice-emu.sourceforge.net/)
- Tok64 (http://webspace.webring.com/people/iu/um_3776/tok64/)

Sadly, I don't have a commodore to test.
But what an original idea and an interesting take on the theme!

Congratulations!

Instructions for running on Arch Linux:
Install vice: pacman -S vice
Download and extract the "LD36 TPHX.zip" (in the "Commodore 64" link)
Navigate to the directory where you extracted it and run: x64 TICTACTOE.PRG

Looks like a nice implementation! Wish I could try getting it to run on a C64.

Oh wow this is great, a very interesting and original take on the idea. Wish I had an actual commodore to test your code. I did run it on an emulator and it seemed to work without issue.

GREETINGS PROFESSOR FALKEN

A STRANGE GAME.
THE ONLY WINNING MOVE IS NOT TO PLAY.

(This was pretty great. An interesting take on the theme indeed.)
