Rusty Spaceship by VersatileSponge
You're the handyman for a spaceship decades old, it barely can fly, thanks to you. You have to repair everything aboard to keep it alive.
This is my first jam, it was nice participating, but so tiring and hard ! Thanks for testing. Please report bugs and feel free to comment. I made the code, graphics (if we can call them that) sounds and music on my own.
To play, Just visit the site. you need a decent browser, it uses ES6 syntax and modules. https://rodolphegohard.github.io/rusty-spaceship/

The audio had me laught out loud, damn you Zoidberg !
The gameplay is quite simple though, and as you've noted, there are some controls issues with ladders and sliding while repairing!
Had fun playing it, good job!
Ladders were a bummer as you know.
I really think you have a very solid idea here. The concept is very very cool and a funny one. Really like the story dialogue in the beggining. Should really invest on making it on point, in such a way that makes it obvious that the man that was put in charge done a really bad mistake by accepting this job.
Said that, I think that the main question in this game is how fun it is to play and how much potention it has. Now that you have a solid idea, imagine it as a small seed. Cause you have to make it grow into a fun gameplay loop. As it is now, the game has a kinda non enganging, cause everything is kinda in "the same place". I think that the decision making part can play a important role in this game.
I have an idea on to how to do so:
-You are THE pilot of a malfunctioning flying thing. That would be crazy! You shoulda be, like, piloting the ship and, at the same time, fixing it. It could be made in a way that the piloting part could have some moments of relaxing AI controlled fligth (with fewer obstacles), and, others (you could have a screen for that) with many things, so you have to take control of the flight. This way, when somethings when 2 or 3 things are breaking, you shoulda decide which one is most important at that moment for the action you are doing. Ex: you need velocity? Fix the engine. You need the missiles working correctly? Fix the missile launcher. Maybe with few O2 your character start to alucinate more and more, before he dies. So he start seeing things that doesn't exist (and the vision diminishes. And so on. This way the gameplay enter in a decision making loop the get even more chaotic, time to time!
For this submission, I will only sort bugfixes (ladder bugs mostly and music), as I think it's not allowed by the rules to improve the game. But I'm thinking of making a v2 with all the feedbacks and Ideas from your comments :) They are indeed ideas I wanted to implement but went too short on time.
Retrospectively, I got really carried away and too ambitious when designing the game concept and would have needed 3 weeks, not 3 days to complete the initial idea ...
@fire-phantom7 I realize I developped the game with my browser zoom at like 60% or 70%. I think you were seeing the top part of the win screen (black, couldn't draw a landscape) where the spaceship lands. At first I wanted the climax of the song to sync with the landing but the result is a bit clumsy...
@gablue Thanks for your kind comments and all your idea, they're great and I like them. I definitely wanted more of what you describe for this game. your idea to pilot the ship AND repair it is awesome, better than my first idea which was I intended the pilot to throw a tantrum, leave the cockpit and leave you there. but drawing and animating the main character juste took so long already I couldn't work on the pilot.
