The jumping feels a little imprecise, but great concept and atmosphere !

Dang, well crafted game. I like how you don't die if the fire goes out, you just have to try again. Felt like there was a good difficulty curve!

The atomosphere and aesthetic is setting up a great story to be told. I did get stuck as I was only able to jump sometimes with W and couldn't get past the stacked platforms. Not too sure what is going there but thank you for letting us play!

The jumping controls threw me off occasionally, but I really like the look of the game. The lighting effects are pretty and the particle effects stand out brilliantly.

Really cute game! Controls could use a little work. I spent a while standing on top of the torch trying to pick it up before realising I had to be next to it. But overall feels pretty good to play and looks great!

Controls and picking the torch up are iffy sometimes, but I like the execution.

Lovely aesthetic, great concept. The only thing letting it down was the unresponsiveness of the controls.

Cool idea! Like others have said the controls need a little help. There appears to be a bug where the character wont jump sometimes. By the way — the music gives a very empty and alone vibe, which perfectly matches the idea of the trying to light a fire in the dark. Good job!

Interesting take on the theme. I liked the graphics! The jump button didn't work very well which is a pity because I would've liked to play more.

Really good looking. I can really tell you put a lot of work into these graphics. The glow from the fire and the shadow the player cast are really cool looking. Gameplay wise I enjoy it but I wish you would have picked a diffrent button than space to use for the candle throw and pick up as I found that I often ended up trying to jump by pressing space throwing the candle into a way where I then had great difficulty picking it up again.

Solid platformer! I loved the boom effect and the the overall feel of the area. I only made it through about 5 fires, so I'm not sure how complex the jumping puzzles are, or if any more mechanics are added in, but the part I saw was all really good. The one downside, as noted by others was the failure to jump - I'm fairly certain, after some experimentation that it had to do with the character bouncing slightly upon landing. If the character was mid-bounce, attempting to jump again would fail. Still, very solid little game!

👍I enjoyed this!

very nice visual effects

the idea of lighting campfires and having them also be your checkpoints is very well done!

but wow, the throwing part hard!

I loved the concept. I found the game a little unresponsive at times to with the controls making the platforming elements difficult to contend with at times. The game suffered a little slowdown for me when all the screen affects where in operation, making the controls even harder to control.

Overall I liked the visuals and the subtle audio that went along with it.

Using the fires as both the light sources and effectively the scoring, to see how far you can get worked very well.

Quite a tricky little platformer. The pixel art flame effects were lovely. I managed to get to the point where you have to throw the torch but didn't get further. Was there meant to be music playing? web version seemed silent.

Again quality pixel art

Love the lighting and the darkness. I also appreciate the platform corner correction/slide.
It's fun to throw the torch into the next campfire.

Lovely gameplay and aesthetics! Overall, I believe this was a great puzzle level, but I feel like the throwing mechanic could be explored a bit more.

I really enjoyed the concept, and it was a great take on the theme. The jump was sometimes a little bit tricky (or maybe I was doing it wrong...) but overall it was a very nice experience ! Great job!

I like the atmosphere of the game, especially the fire effects. I found the controls a little tricky. I found it frustrating that the player had to be next to the torch, and not overlapping, but that's being a little nit-picky. Cool game!

I liked where this was going, but couldn't get very far due to the jumping problem. Could you fix it? I'd like to play all the way through

Neat idea. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/S9pVfrriZ3E
