Run a circle by SkelleRoznik

[raw]
made by SkelleRoznik for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

It's an endless runner made in a minimalist style placed in a circle. Your goal is to run around it, avoid procedurally generated walls, and hit the highest score you can.

My highest score is 107. Can you beat it?

Controls:

C - switch inner/outer side

Space - jump

Would make an excellent mobile game. Really liked the simplicity and minimalism and fits the theme very nicely.

Should have enabled ratings for sound, great background music, this was a fun one, reminds me of a lot of the flash games from back in the day, so simple, but so addictive. Well done.

I really enjoyed this one. Style was so clean, gameplay is simple yet just the right amount of challenging. As @colejparker pointed out would be nice for mobile. Something to do while waiting for the bus or when on the can.

A nice simple one. :)

It might be good to make the block generation scale the difficulty over time, I found on some runs it would throw a tonne of moving blocks at me right away, and sometimes it would do static blocks you can go around for ages.

A great hyper-casual game!
My only comment is that the moving walls can always and only be jumped over in the outer ring.
After I understood that, they became static to me as the only non-player moving object.

With a bit a randomness (maybe flip the starting position of the moving wall) this is a solid mobile game.

Really loved the music here, made me not want to stop playing. The minimalist but entirely effective and pretty graphics also complimented the gameplay

Very nice! Very simple to understand, but surprisingly challenging. I like the color palette.

the minimal aesthetic is really nice, the experience was nice and polished, however I think it would be a bit more fun with a faster speed and snappier controls.

Simple but very well executed game. Sound is fits game play. I had most trouble with the moving walls

This would be a great mobile game ! Controls are a bit jerky when you spam the inputs.

It was really fun to play. I can spend my whole day playing this on my phone !! But jumping arc felt a bit strage to me. Maybe it's because we are following a circular road ??

Overall this is a nice and simple game. Feedback would be to rebalance the inner and outer circles, as the outer circle is generally way easier to stay on, the only time I go in the inner circle is when there's a tall platform on the outside circle. It seems this is the case because the half platforms (stick out on both sides) are harder to jump on the inner circle at certain angles, and the moving platforms always spawn at a certain distance, with a certain speed, and a certain spawn position (fully inside, from what I can tell) that make them impossible to jump on the inner circle (maybe not impossible, but I haven't been able to do it).

Really clean: someone mentioned that they could see this as a fun mobile game, and I definitely agree.

My only complaint is that the inside track is pretty tough to play on, since jumping moves you *closer* to the upcoming obstacle, while the outside ring moves you further away when you leap.

I love the aesthetic, and the music fits quite nicely!
