made by RexTGun for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

piss.gif Inside you is the fools heart, fueled by human blood. you aren't bound by flesh but you are of spirit. keep the fools heart beating and gorge yourself on the flesh of man.

Fast paced balancing act between drinking blood and laying low. you must drink blood and spend blood to jump between bodies, stab your victims with your tongue, and stay alive. Warning, moves take up blood so be careful when using them if you are low.

and please read the itch page if you get confused during gameplay as i did not have time to implement a proper learning section (will be in Post LD release)

Cool idea! Very hard game. I like the simple graphics. I didn't quite feel intuitive to drink the blood, so I got stuck there for a while. Would also be cool with some sort of score counter to give the game some purpose. All in all though, a solid game jam game.

Interesting game - trying to balance taking hits, attacking and consuming the blood. I also like the line of sight effect which makes it feel almost like hallways. I did find it frustrating wandering around trying to find the last enemy sometimes. Nice job overall.

Very interesting, and I liked the mechanics a lot. Its a really good point to develop something really cool from. A tutorial that explains the mechanics at first would be nice as well.

It's a very very fun, fast-paced, challenging, bloody experience. It's pretty tricky negotiating the tight corners of the second level, I find that my motion sometimes makes my tongue hit the wall instead of the players quite frequently.

Very polished game! Love the idea, and it was executed quite well! Only complaint is that the sfx are kind of agressive on the ears. Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599709052

Some really creative gameplay and dynamics on display here. I thought the presentation was original and made a good impression, as the top-down maze + perspective isn't something I've seen before. The systems were nicely balanced, and that kept the tension high while forcing me to make creative choices. I would have loved an in-game tutorial, or something to teach mechanics in-engine, but for the most part I figured it out on my own. Some music, graphical / environment design and more varied challenges would have sealed the deal for me. Still, in 48 hours this is a really slick entry and could easily be expanded to get it there, for me. Great work!

you sir; clearly know about game design.

I love how the blood is needed as your life and your possess power meter. creates a very risk-reward situation that's actually depends on your skill.

great job with this one. I'd think about expanding more on this.

the sounds were a bit annoying.

I like how you start the game by possessing. built in Tutorial.

all in all. on of the few games that I'd say could be fully-featured + unique at the same time.

I like that you can't see where your top-down character can't see. The sound was far too loud, had to put my pc volume at 6%. Felt like deaths were somewhat random as I was dying while my health full. Also frustrating because you get sent back to the very start of the game so I don't know if there are more levels than the tutorial & the first one or two. Also I would say the walls/hallways were too narrow or close together in some places. I think it would be nice if the walls looked more like hallways in a large building. All in all I enjoyed the game.

@sirfetishfancy im sorry to hear about the random deaths, i feel like it might have been systems in the game i did not convey properly in the game itself which i will improve apon in the PostLD release, though if thats not the case it might be a genuine bug which i better crack down on. thank you for playing!

Well That was a fast paced top down shooter! Reminds me of Hotline Miami, but with a twist! I found the method that worked the best was shoot a guy or two, swap, clean blood, and repeat. Safe? Yes. Fun? Not as much as playing greedy killing as many as you can before you swap at the last second. Great fun and good job.

I really like your visual design, special mention for the intro with signature

Your game made me think of mine for this jam, about the circle that represents "your health and your ability to do things". I did this kind of thing, except that you can use your health to heal something, or you can absorb other things health.

Hi! I played your game on-stream last night. Thanks so much for sharing it!

What a unique combination of mechanics - add that to fresh and bizarre visual style; what you've created is a truly singular experience.

I loved the very first level the most - where there were just a few enemies. The one-shot-one-kill pressure was balanced well against my ability to act quickly at that point. And it was that level that reminded me most of Hotline Miami - I do encourage you to look into Hotline Miami for some inspiration for your level designs if you continue to work on this.

Well done! I hope you *do* continue to work on this.

The blood effects were nice. I liked the fast paced-nature of the game as well. However, I felt that the pathways were a little too narrow. The audio was limited but the sfx which were there was satisfying. Still, body switching and shooting was rather fun. This was a cool game all around with some nice presentation. Good job :)

Pretty cool. Feels like some kind of abstract hitman game. I do wish it kept track of kills, or how long you've been alive, or something to gauge how well you did during your run. Also, the level was a bit cramped I think. Maybe parts of the world could have small tunnels like that, but not the whole thing. Just some thoughts though, I had a lot of fun playing.

The game is a bit nostalgic since it reminds me of old pc games I used to play like 7 8 years ago. Overall it's fine, but I think the guide is still confusing, I hope you can add more guides in the game, like how to survive, how to move between bodies... those should be showed inside the game, not just on your post description

Hello there ! I like the premise of the game ! It has a good snappy feel to it, a bit complex at first without proper tutorial but as you said, you'll be working on that ! :) The controls are easy enough and the blood splatter trail? by GOD that feels satisfying. Really fun game. It took me a while to understand the game fully but it when I did, it was fun to sneak and kill enemies to stay alive, feels like a hitman game to me. Keeping track of score/enemies killed would be nice. Anyway, very nice game and I enjoyed it.

Such a great game, it was so much fun to play. I prefered the ballsy route to just show myself, kill an enemy, swap instantly and fill myself up with the blood of the corpses and repeating this process again. And I would say this was the most risky way but also the most fun way to play this game. I loved the mechanics, I guess you could have made some better visualization and effects here and there. Even though, I love the map design (human body) and the connection to the theme.

Great entry

Tricky, tricky! Simple mechanics but difficult to master, and that's how it should be. I liked the raytracing(?) effect that hid areas of play that weren't visible to the possessed dot. Effects were sufficiently gross. There's a lot you can do with this. Good job!

Love the graphics, kinda confusing whether the grey is a fog of war or 3d wall, but i like the mystery. Lacks a kill counter though. Definitely a bit hard and could use some variety. Possible future expansions that i think may fit: upgrades/powerups, linear/segmented level design, and variety in enemies/environments. Had a blast trying to kill as many people as possible.

Hey there - I thought this was a pretty solid production in game mechanics, but I was disappointed to see that it effectively ended at the second level.

The game mechanics were tough to figure out at first. I still don't totally understand the body swapping stuff. The best way to play the game seemed to be by "shooting" everything on sight and then just walking over the blood, without ever body swapping or trying to be stealthy.

This is still pretty crafty as far as game mechanics go. It was unique and generally well-executed. I didn't love the graphics - some differentiation between solid walls and the edges of your range of sight would've made navigation feel much easier. Background music and a bit of extra SFX would've also added nicely to the feel of the mechanics.

Overall this game was a refreshing shake up in mechanics and I enjoyed playing it.
