(if it's useful : i tested it on firefox, normal and private navigation)
In any case, i love your animation for Pit !
1) Who hid all these apples in a cave? and why?
2) How do you train your horse to become a spelunker?
This was a fun and unique experience. There were some things that I noted: the hit box for the horse seemed a lot smaller than the horse and being a big animal it sort of felt like maybe it didn't fit in the whole cave environment.
That said, I enjoyed it. The apple indicator in the top left urged me to keep trying to find all the apples.
The animations of the horse are pretty smooth, the environments are quite pleasing. The collectibles make the whole game more enjoyable and more replayable, because they give you an incentive to explore the whole game, and it feels really rewarding to collect them.
Overall, really nice experience !
Things that can improve:
- Caverns are too tight to a horse haha
- Collisions are quite strange
- Audio are very buggy. Maybe some problem with Coroutines or Update usage
As I said, the game is a lot fun! I play this dozens of times before write this comment :D
I agree those two need more work, it would be nice to work on these and get a second version of the game out in the future. :D x
The caverns at the end are definitely a little too tight but we wanted to make them as small as we could to carry across the feel of a mine and the reality of the tight spaces a pit pony would squeeze through! So I think we can work on this for a future update after the jam :)
The audio is very buggy and was added last minute, thank you we will look into this to resolve. <3 xxx
Good work here o/
The horse animation looks really cool though. The art is rough around the edges but its very clear, that you know, what you're doing.
I will only rate the game on the stuff i can see. Maybe there is a way to fix the jumping issue I encounter?
- Viewport felt too small, made it hard to see where you were jumping. It wasn't too much of a problem because the level design was forgiving enough
- Horse animations look really good
It works well and is fun to play! The idea is simple and fits in with the theme, and the art is pretty nice (especially the animation for the horse and the title screen!)
I like it!

Great job overall!
Watching him jump as I move was super cool.
Definitely, really cool entry!
I also have a question: Why is there a pony trapped in a coal mine? How did he end up there? POOR PIT :see_no_evil:
Nice work. I'll finish by saying again, that's a fantastic looking horse.
Thank you!
One thing that i think would greatly benefit this game is a short idle animation, the animations were fantastic and pretty which made the idle feel a bit lifeless in comparison.
I had fun searching around for all of the apples, good game :)
Nice art style. The controls and collision might need polishing. Keep it up.
I liked the idle animation where the horse looks at you, I also liked the hidden areas and how some of the apples you only had one chance to get them else you would just have to carry on with the journey.
Either way, nice visuals, gameplay could use some refinement, horse in a cave earns my infamous thumbs up.
Fortunately the friendly miners are clearly apple connoisseurs as myself so I at least will not go hungry. Somehow my feet feel a little wobbly (must be the bad air in the mines) and I find that the walls around me are somehow undefined, it is like I cannot really figure out when I collide with anything anymore! Is this really a mine, or is this purgatory! It must be the latter as there are traps everywhere! And I cannot get out! Even death doesn't allow me to escape! Oh no, what wrongs have I done in my lifetime to end up like this. I have been wronged. I was a good horsie while on the surface. Woe is me.
(I could only find 90 :apple: )
1. The gameplay felt raw, and wasn't much challenging.
2. The hitbox of horse was small, maybe it could be improve and be bigger?
3. Didn't match the theme, player could just stand at one play and be alive. Maybe something like apple hunger or falling rock from behind could make the game match the theme more. (This would also help 1st point)
1. I think the concept was good. Adding the falling platforms was a nice change of pace. I think having danger be inherent at the beginning would make the player be on edge more.
2.The art animation for the horse was well done! I loved the loading screen.
3. I think the music and sound did it's job! Good work there.
It looks amazing, I can see you have put a lot of work there. However in terms of control, it could be better. I don't like the horse sliding off crates. A little more friction whould have been nice.
Cheers!
A little buggy in places, pretty sure all of them were pointed out by previous commenters already. But still, a charming game, nice job overall
A bit jittery in places, where the collision is a bit to precise. but overall a very fun game.
The music is extremely repetitive and the controls not very responsive (mainly due to the size of the horse). Also given it's a horse I feel like it would make sense for it to jump longer distances and maybe smaller heights.
I didn't finish your game but I didn't find any use for the rear up move ? It broke boxes to find carrots but I'm not sure if there is any use for them.
The idea of having surprise traps and making the player restart to try to avoid them can be cool but then I feel like polishing the controls is key because you don't want players frustrated by irresponsive controls and unpredictable hitboxes
Overall cool design, well done !
Pretty Fun game, the horse really makes it, love the art style, animations, sounds, and music. Love that he/she scoots when you stop but is slightly buggy when you hold both A and D. The input was a little choppy during the more accuracy-needed jumps, and the terrain caused strange bumps at times. I agree with other comments that the hitbox to grab an apple was sometimes slightly frustratingly small.
Great work!
Some improvements from my point of view:
Lack of sound effects, mainly for the horse itself, I would like to hear more sounds like the "hooves" stomping the ground, a bit of the horse breathing upon jump, running and when it abruptly stops when you try to go into the opposite direction.
The sfx could also assist the UX by adding some rumbling rocks to anticipate the rockslide and the falling rock;
An ambience that could reinforce the environment, like the reverberation of some sound effects since it's a cave, some cave sounds like echoes of water drops, small creatures, howling wind and some localized flames sounds close to the lamps.
Nice game!
I noticed a few things; when running into a wall the horse does the glitching thing; then for the rock which fell from above maybe after it reaches the ground it can be made non lethal for the horse to touch it.
Nice breakable boxes which you have to climb to get the apples above
I believe in overall, the level design needs improvement such as in corridors space, size proportion and layout of rooms, platform easing (i could climb up those platforms before the door but i believe a lot of played would have difficulty reaching the top, for me it didn't felt like it was hard, if felt like the commands weren't responding right, then i changed my playstyle to jump and then press left or right) and the "ramps" felt like they were draw like you didn't care if the horse could jump it, like climbing a moutain is skyrim with a horse XD You could have gotten reference from Mario for the starting level to teach that if u press jump, u jump, if u hold jump, you jump higher, that would help some people that otherwise would have been stuck and blame your map.
I missed player feedback, specially for the breaking of boxes, pushing down door. The music was ok, i saw that u didn't want ratings on it, but the player art and animation is incredible, only change i would make is the head of the horse going up atleast when i walked, it was weird for me him always looking down and it looks like you went almost fully for the animation, i would have went all out. And the animated loading screen? Awesome! I wish we had made one! And last but not least, It felt more like "Escape" then "Keep it Alive"
Uff... In the end, i like your game! You have something that is traditional and kept the fun, in a beautifull horse also!

Well done!
I like that there are multiple paths to choose from, some trickier than others. it would be better to help players identify which paths lead to death, because at the moment they look the same, and its frustrating having to restart because of that. My favourite part of this game was the horse himself! i really like the animations and would be great to see what he gets up to in a post-jam version!
On my laptop (i5 3rd gen, 6gb ram, Windows 7) it took very long to load and then crashed. It happened three times at which point I gave up.
After that, I tried the game on my desktop (i7 2nd gen, 16gb ram, Windows 7), still took pretty long to load but after that it ran fine. Had a slowdown when breaking the first box.
I liked the game overall, plays really nice for the most part. The hand drawn art is very pretty, it added a lot of character to the game.
That said, I'm not sure it fits very well to the theme, as the character isn't in an immediate danger (like dying from hunger), the theme here is more like a "escape" which obviously should be done "alive", but that isn't a big deal, please don't take it too heavily.
Anyways: fun game, feels very complete, movement is smooth enough., loved the art. Congrats!
- Plus for using Godot
- Very nicely hand drawn horse, which is a nice touch for a jam game. Even the loading screen is majestic. But when getting in a corner the timing of the frames of the horse animation goes crazy, which is a bit distracting and mood breaking.
- A bit more context of why moving around inside a cave with a horse eating apples would be good.
- Due to the horse sliding and no time for me to react, I died countless times in the first earth slide, which was a bit frustrating.
- Overall, well made game for a jam, and the gameplay is there, which is valuable!

plus points for horse.
Really reminded me of the 90s Disney games like Aladdin, Hercules and Lion King (and maybe the megadrive Mickey games as well). Some of the hazards were a bit unfair (I walked into a falling boulder that had come to a rest and it killed me) and the sudden change in the music to just the right ear when you die was a bit jarring.
Would have really liked to have some kind of health system and quicker respawns or even checkpoints.
