All I get on Web Unity (ubuntu) is a black screen with UI stuff on it, though. The game doesn't seem to be working for me.
I loved the walking animation
Of course if I could cope with dehydration.
Nice work!
:purple_heart: :dart: :frog:
- Texture work on the 3D assets is good too, the runes on the rocks look cool.
- Spacey Soundtrack is well suited for the game
- Animations of the character are a nice touch too.
- Mechanics are very well done, using the hot and cold of the planet to cook things and melt water is a neat idea.
I would say the pickup animation could be quicker, its a bit frustrating to watch them pick something up slowly as a licky monster is approaching.
Great job guys.
If anything could be improved, I'd say the pick up action is a little bit precious sometimes, and could be more forgiving, and sometimes due to the nature of the FoV the little creatures blindside you if they're coming from below - also had some very high floating chicken issues, and some wobbles with the creatures getting stuck in their loops/becoming hard to lure. But honestly, the problems were miniscule. I played it for wayyy too long. Fantastic work!
I wish there were more hints as I occasionally forget how to drink/pick up.
Good job!
I must admit, those dark and light thing and mechanic around it(too hot/too cold) looks really awesome, good job!
Soundeffects could have been slightly better, since it sometimes seemed to be very low quality. The soundtrack itself fits good to the game and creates a very nice atmosphere.
Sometimes i had to rotate and move very often to get the crystal-grab triggered.
P.S. When you put a crystal in the ship it sounds exactly like my microwave 🤣
Congratulation
Seriously good work here had a blast playing. The 3d models in this game are really well done.
This is all things considered just a beautifully well executed game. Great art for the short amount of time, great sound design, fun and challenging gameloop. I love this!
If I were to nickpick and change one thing though it would be to change the "input" method for confirming things to either the mouse click or the space bar and thus unifying the control scheme (seeing how the game does not use the mouse anywhere else, I'd go for the spacebar). That is however gripe at a high level, but I couldn't find any other flaws :'D Fantastic job you did there. Thank you for making this gem of jamgame <3
I tried to reach the last stage but I couldn't complete it, I tried several times, I think the last one is quite unbalanced.
in the last stage. monsters most of the time are at a height that they cannot collect
From here you're not entitled to care at all but in case: This is my first LD and I used an old metallic water bottle, a bic pen, my mouth and some audacity post-processing, if you wanna check our game out :p
Level 3 is very challenging and good
I would say, it's quite difficult to handle the chicken monsters and to heard them to the hot side. They tend to float around you and go off screen, where you can't tell if they're still following you, or if they're about to pop in and kill you.
Another minor frustration, you use spacebar to start the level, but the restart after death button has to be clicked. It would be nice if this could use spacebar too.
That being said, great idea and really nice execution. Good job :D
Feel free to ignore most of the things I point out due to jam scope, etc, but I’m giving feedback assumming you would keep working in the game. The rating I gave was with the jam context in mind though.
What I think could be improved:
Some way to "scan" items that I need that are out of view, I had a run that I couldn't find any ice cubes before running out of water
I think there should be a more obvious indicator showing wheter you are in the hot or cold zone of the planet, an arrow in the temperature bar showing what is going on could solve this
Regarding the theme of the jam, I didn't really see much match with the theme
What I loved:
The concept art around the page is amazing!
Using the sides of the planet illuminated by the star is really smart
Cute animations and models
If my comment was helpful, don’t forget to like it! … and if you can, open my profile page and leave feedback on our game as well <3
Thanks for the experience you provided with your game!
The graphics are awesome, it's very impressive what you guys achieved in so little time, the animations are so cute! The audio sets the mood very well too.
Nice UI indications of temperature, it reminded me of *Don't Starve*.
The arrow indicating the direction of the ship was a very good addition, maybe if it helped to locate the ice cubes it would be even better! Because I was suffering to find them haha, died a lot from dehydration =(
I had some issues though: The screen kept shaking while I walked, maybe because of the irregular surface? The hitbox to pickup items could be a bit larger, I lost many precious seconds trying to pick nearby items. There were some food that stayed very high up and I couldn't pick it up.
Besides the small issues, it was a very fun and beautiful experience! Great game!
well polished
Others have also mentioned it, but the pickup animation felt a little bit slow, I think I would have liked if I could just run over an item to automatically pick it up! I would rather throw it away then with a button.
