Mechanic in a Loop by Dogmann
This is a game made by me and friend. We are two 13-year-old kids who decide to participate in this game jam. this is our first fully finished game. I (Ale) did the all the programming, UI, and post processing. Chris did level design, wrote the story and also did the text to speech. the Since we could not think of any game mechanics that fit the theme and that we where able to make in two days we decided to incorporate the theme into the story. We had a lot of fun making this game and we hope you guys have a lot of fun playing it.

* PS. Stay tuned for our second release on itch.io where we plan to put in a timer, more levels, an actual settings menu, and a more detailed story with visuals.

Good job! Graphics and speech works well! At first, the goal of the game is not really clear. With a tutorial level, and better visual indication (a different color for the last platform for example), it could be quite cool!

This game looks and performs well for your first game! Well done! For me, the movement was a bit floaty and it wasn't clear what the objective was.

Nice work team! Very interesting approach to storytelling. Looking forward to see what you make in the future.

I really liked it! The concept is really abstract and I liked how the levels paired up with the story (like when the character 'goes insane' the level is very downhill and difficult and far apart, and then when they get better it's a lot more straightforward and flat). I was a bit confused at the start, and fell off the first platform a few times - I didn't realise that you had to jump/double jump with space, and I wasn't sure where to go. I think if you work on it a bit more it would be good to include ways to let the player know what to do. It might also be good to pair up the narrative to the game play a bit more to make each stronger. I liked the gameplay of jumping around, the level design was a good level of difficulty, and each level took me a few tries before I could complete it. For a first completed game I think this was really good!
