Sheep Keep by Kevin Barrios

[raw]
made by Kevin Barrios for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

LD46 - KEEP IT ALIVE

Gentle little sheep will follow you around. Try to lead them home while keeping the wolves at bay.

There are hidden lost sheep around the world, try to find all of them. (They're just static, but it's a fun scavenger hunt)

Thanks for playing everyone!

This is our... I think 8th attempt at Ludum Dare. We don't always finish sadly, but we hope you enjoy walking around in the little world we made.

A little rough around the edges, but the visuals and music are amazing. It's very calming to herd the sheep from one point to another. Good job!

The lighting and the graphics were good! The slingshot had some kooky mechanics. Looked more like a catapult.

nice atmospheric game with sweet graphics, soft lighting and calm music
the disadvantages: wolves are a little bit like cats, the character walks quickly, so the herd can't keep up with him, the location is probably even too large and a little unfinished along the edges.
game for a warm winter evening with cocoa and plaid :)

Very nice atmosphere. To be honest though at some point i just left the sheep behind and explored the map.

Great graphics and atmosphere, but combat cold use more impact, and you forget to add gravity for the player
cool game aver all, keep it up

Great concept and take on the theme! I'm sure you ran out of time for many of the features wanted (animal audio, slingshot hit animations, etc..) but it's a great foundation! The music is very relaxing, and I could see myself enjoying a fully fleshed out sheep herder simulation now :D

Stunning atmosphere, I could listen to the music all day long :). So cozy, brilliant idea. The combat could have used some more polishing.

One cool feature would be to somehow indicate when the wolves are hit by the slingshot.

Great job anyways, I really enjoyed it.

The graphics is fantastic! I really enjoyed walking around. Also the music is great too. Couldn't figure out how to keep wolves away, but still it was great experience. Good job!

Graphics and lighting in this game are just great! Exploring the world is nice and the audio supplements the atmosphere nicely.

But it very much lacks gameplay. You mentioned in the description that the sheep will follow me around and I should lead them home. But apart from the few initial sheep, no sheep I found wanted to follow me. But on the other hand, you also mentioned in the description that sheep are static. So now I am confused and I don't know if it's a bug that they don't follow or intended feature or just following was not properly implemented. I'm guessing the last one

It is a nice concept and a sheep scavenger hunt would indeed be fun if it was finished. Keep at it!

Thank you all for checking out our little demo! Special thanks to @notan-lemon for the signal boost!

This is our 2nd attempt at making something in 3D and it was definitely a good challenge! Anyone who felt something was unfinished or missing is definitely right on haha. I accidentally placed the sheep static mesh's around the map instead of the pre-fabs that are meant to follow and it was too late to fix it when we submitted. Happy to hear people enjoyed the atmosphere and music though. At some point I just decided since we were lacking gameplay I'd just make the map big enough that it was still interesting to explore. So thanks again for checking it out, glad you got something out of it :)

Music is great! I wish sheep follow me when I find them) And shooting feels not powerful enough. Still, good job!
