Toymageddon by Mr.Swanson

[raw]
made by Mr.Swanson for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

You are in control of small and vulnerable toy starship. But other starships are not happy with you and try to kill you in any cost, even if it mean they will decimate their own population. Try to keep your toyship alive long enough to see last you enemy die or help them die faster. But be careful - your enemies will find and hunt you down so you better run faster. While you are running - don't forget about obstacles, on speeds your toyship can produce every small thing on your way can be deadly. Good luck and have fun. And don't forget - try to KEEP IT ALIVE!

The controls are kinda dodgy, but once you learn how to control it, feels great. The gameplay is fun and the graphics look solid. Good game!

I'm not too good at controlling it but I liked the little bit I played. My ears kind of heard from the audio, rapid loud "PEW PEW PEW" gets annoying after a while. I like the concept though, good work!

Great idea, matches the theme for sure, but its really hard to play and the spawns are sometimes a bit strange. But i like it, i like the graphic and also the settings in the beginning, a lot of games dont have them. Would like to see more =)

Couldn't get to grips with the controls, but the sound effects sold me on the whole thing

Very hard to control, but still a nice entry. Loved the pew-pew and death sounds.

Great idea. I liked that you added a lot of options for customizing the ship and a practice level. The controls were really weird and I couldn't get used to them. If I pushed the forward button, the ship moved too fast and many times it bumped around the room. The audio effects were godlike, and the first time I fired a bullet I laughed hard. However, it would be nice to have a background track to get the player more in the mood. Good job guys!

Controls were a bit crazy, sound effects and graphics were nice.
With a bit of polish on the controls this would be a fun little arena shooter.

The controls where really tuff at the start but once you got them under control it was really fun... And I thought that the idea of a toy ship + obviously human made sound effects just paired so perfectly and made so much sense. Good game. Keep it up!

The game is really nice, we had the same gameplay idea (don't hesitate to check it out ;) ). The sounds are funny, good continuation and congratulations.

Interesting game with a lot of ship combinations. I liked how the sound effects are all from a person and it adds to the fact that this is basically a kid playing with their spaceship and using their imagination. The controls are hard to get a grasp on and I sometimes die immediately when I spawn in. I had fun flying around in practice mode where I didn't have to worry about enemy ships. Overall you did a good job.

Good job...But I got confused while playing. It was hard to see the enemies. I got easily killed so many times. Good mechanics, but I think needs some adjustments...Congrats..

Damn, this is hard to control! Really nice entry, I liked the home-made SFX on this, and even the choice of airships and weapons. Really good entry!

And something I noticed was the death feed showing some names. Did you name every enemy? Because I liked this little touch.

This is fun (I like dog fight games) even though controls are quite tough. Having the possibility to play several types of players (here vessels and weapons) always impress me for such a short development time. Furthermore I like your beatboxing sound design. That is something we would have liked to do but we lacked the time.

The camera angle and controls are a bit hard to master, but enjoyed the idea in general. Sound effects were nice.

ZI ZI BRUUH! I am not quite sure what was going on but I enjoyed my time trying to direct the missile into directions :D Extra points for home made sound effects!

I enjoyed the sound effects, but the controls make the game pretty difficult to play. I couldn't stay alive for more than a few seconds and when I was I just kept hitting things. I do appreciate the practice mode.
