A tower defense game, but your base is alive!

You are a tumor that needs its host to survive. However, random enemy piles come to attack your meat, so be sure to protect the heart at the core. To build new meat balls, you need to be close enough and have some cells. You slowly generate them over time, and enemies drop them as well. Have fun!

If you're having difficulties, pay attention to the bullets arc. (Placing turrets in the back is probably better than in front)

Controls

Movement: WASD & Space

  • Build Normal: Mouse Left
  • Build Turret: Mouse Right
  • Build Armor: Mouse Middle

I really enjoyed this game, the idea is cool and original but I felt like the balancing wasn't quite right. I found it very hard to survive even past the second enemy, also it took me a long time to figure out you could only place items inside your light radius.

Neat game! I was able to kill two of the baddies. The graphics were beautiful and the setting/mood was delightfully grotesque. I loved your use of squishy sound effects :smile:

At times it was not clear when/where I could place a tower - and perhaps I did not do enough experimenting, but I was not entirely successful at controlling the character and getting it to jump when I wanted it to.

Overall - really unique and fun game.

Edit: I have been stuck like this for about 5 min. It never managed to hit enemy. Enemy pushed me back and eventually threw me out of world lol

The meaty graphics are awesome! And the idea is a cool twist on tower defense games. My only problem is that it is way too hard to survive. I would put first some weaker enemies to understand gameplay better, and then the big boys. Good job!

Nice game, very challenging, I love the art and the mood of the game, however one time when I was re spawning, nothing was moving, my player and the meat were on screen and my player flipped when I tried to go left and right, but other than that great job.

Super unique game! I love the entire atmosphere of this game, meaty alien strange logic and visuals and it all works together! I wish i had more budget to create more insane creatures but I got always killed already by the second creature the latest haha. Keep doing your thing, I really like how refreshing your style is!

Nice game ! Love the Super meat boy / Isaac vibe to the graphics. The sound is nice, the gameplay is really fun and unique.

- It's maybe a litlle hard, as the tower have really few life
- The character don't seem to jump high enough in some case to move around your core

Overall I enjoyed playing it !

Great game. The difficulty curve is probably too steep at the beginning, and it's also unclear where to place the turrets. BUT it is really fun, the lighting/graphics and mood are great and the animation and art is fantastic. Killed 9 of them. So squelchy I felt sick :)

Really cool concept. A bit confusing at the start, but really fun once I got the hang of it. Loved the meaty graphics :D

I've got to say this is the most fun game i've played so far in the jam. The innovation and replayability is high! Also the atmosphere is on point and to top it all of the theme is ridiculous. Very good job!

Great presentation, but the difficulty and finicky controls for the slime were more frustrating than satisfying for me. Could be a gem with some fine-tuning.

Really interesting game! I loved how you used the art and lighting to create a delightfully gross aesthetic. It took me a second to figure out what to do, but I played this one for a while! Definitely one of the cooler ideas execution ive seen so far!

Nice game! Really enjoyed the small guy climbing the structure and the animations/particles etc from moving around. Unfortunately the middle click didn't really work in WebGL so I couldn't build armor blocks but it was a lot of fun building and replacing!

Good progression too, it started out small and got chaotic. The game really needs some sort of tutorial, on my first try I didn't even know I could control the small blob (I read the controls after)

This is a grea game, I was able to figure out the strategy i needed to push far into the enemies. The building mechanic is great, and I would definitely play a game like this as a standalone title. This has a lot of potential, and i hope that you follow through with this.

Nice game and the pixel art is amazing. the game has a big potential the fact that you have to manage the turrets in order not to shoot at other turrets and to be able to move around the base makes the game strategic and fun.
however it's pretty hard to know where to place the turrets and you can easily get stuck in the base.

I can definitely tell this is going to be one of the entries to look out for at this game jam! The presentation values are top-notch, and the gameplay is novel and highly engaging! However, I question having to control a little tumor guy. It was frustrating to control, it limited where I could build my towers, and it kept getting stuck inside the meat. I felt the game would work a lot better if I could just place my towers where I wanted to without having to worry about a little platformer in my fun little tower-defense game.

The concept is solid, the art and style is phenomenal, but gameplay is extremely confusing and possibly too difficult (unless there's something I'm not getting). I found the 2nd enemy to be impossible. I didn't even notice that you could only place towers near the little pink guy until I seen it mentioned here in a comment. I think this game has massive potential, but it needs some tweaks towards UX.

Gross - I love it! It was a little easy to get stuck and I wasn't sure how the building mechanics worked, but when I defeated my first enemy it was exhilerating! Nice graphics and atmosphere.

Graphics look really nice! Destroying other meats is really satisfying and addicting, but the build mechanics were a bit weird - I'd try to build a turret and it'd build a regular block instead. Otherwise than that it's very fun:D

I had some troubles getting the parts to attach the base, not really sure how it was supposed to done. But the art and sound design was pretty fascinating, I would like to see fully functional game based on such repulsive environment :D Very nice!

Such an amazing entry. A lot going on here! I love the physics, art, soundtrack, and tight mechanics. Some of the game was hard to achieve with my laptop trackpad, but I will try again with a mouse- this entry earned it. I was only able to defeat 3- will see if I can beat that.
